Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Hi, still haven't caught up with my friend. This is killing me!

message 52: by Amy (new)

Amy (aggieamy) | 422 comments My library actually had the book so I'm ready to start!

message 53: by Linda (new)

Linda | 131 comments I just put a hold on the one copy from my library, but it looks like there is someone in line ahead of me so I'm not sure when I'll get it. I haven't read any of Heyer's mysteries, and only a few of her other books years ago. I'm excited to get back into reading some of her books!

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments Hey, Linda and Amy, are you using the same library?

message 55: by QNPoohBear (new)

QNPoohBear | 1638 comments I put it on hold at the library. Look forward to a group read.

lol. Don't think so! :)

message 57: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments we'll wait a bit til people are ready - can't wait!

message 58: by Amy (new)

Amy (aggieamy) | 422 comments Just in case I'll read it quick and get it back to the library. :-)

message 59: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments just realized my last post was "we'll wait...can't wait" LoL

anyway, who is ready and who wants to wait a few days? I can start any time

Anytime for me; I'm just finishing up another book club read!

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I'm not going to see my friend any time soon. I might try TradeMe. I don't want to buy any of her other mysteries, but this one was my favourite!

message 62: by Amy (new)

Amy (aggieamy) | 422 comments I'm ready anytime!

message 63: by Emmy (new)

Emmy B. | 151 comments I'm ready too. Am reading it right now, and so far am loving it. Looking forward to the group read.

message 64: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments how many threads do we want? I was thinking two are enough: one for when you are finished (so with spoilers) and one for just the first half - does this make sense or do you want more the way it was done previously?

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I think 2 threads are enough. Her mysteries (other than maybe Penhallow) are not deep books.

message 66: by Karlyne (new)

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments One of these days we'll have to do Penhallow, just for the diversity of opinions!

message 67: by Amy (new)

Amy (aggieamy) | 422 comments Another vote for two threads.

message 68: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments I'll start the threads tonight.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Karlyne wrote: "One of these days we'll have to do Penhallow, just for the diversity of opinions!"

Really good idea!

message 70: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments I don't want to start the thread without spoilers because I can't find the book yet. It's in a box somewhere and not on top where I was expecting it. If anyone else wants to start it that's fine, or I'll do it in a day or two when I find the book and start it again.

message 71: by Linda (new)

Linda | 131 comments Sigh.....I'm STILL waiting for this book (Death in the Stocks). I'm now the next one in line for the one copy at the library, so maybe in the next week or two....

When you get it, post your thoughts, because I'm sure we'll all jump in!

message 73: by Teffanie (new)

Teffanie (thequaintdamsel) | 6 comments I haven't yet read Death in the Stocks. Is it good? I've recently finished re-reading Behold, Here's Poison. It's my favourite, and I LOVE Randall!

message 74: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 1729 comments I liked it and thought it was worth reading - but I liked Behold, Here's Poison better.

and I didn't like it the first time I read it - like the other mysteries.

message 75: by Linda (new)

Linda | 131 comments I just picked up my Death in the Stocks at the library this week, well after everyone else has read and discussed it! Oh well, I brought it to work with me today and hope to start on it at lunch. This will be my first Heyer mystery.
