I just heard back from the friend that was asking about this book. She said that this wasn't the book that she was looking. She said that it's about an actual little boy that only wants to eat hamburgers at every meal.

Cheese, Peas and Chocolate Pudding maybe? For most of the book, the boy will only eat those three foods, but by the end he discovers hamburgers.
