ABANDONED. fantasy book about a town within a border

I read this book a few weeks ago, or at least the first few pages of it at the place that publishes it, Macmillan. I recall very little, only that the protagonist is female, isn't very liked for some reason, works at a factory and the place she lives inside is with some strange border. I don't know what the factory she works at produces and I don't know what she does specifically. I know that the book in question does have artwork inside it as I recall seeing a sketch of a massive building, presumably the factory in question.
It must have been published within the last ten years, I believe. If anybody can figure out what the book is from my yammering then I would appreciate it if you inform me about it. Thank you in advance.
