Has anyone ever managed to catch up and finish all the series and trilogys etc that they have started??

When I was younger I read every Agatha Christie I could get my hands on (still have them) and so I believe I finished that, as well as the Sherlock Holmes books. I think I read all of Tony Hillerman's Leaphorn and Chee books.

Like you, I try not to begin a series unless there are already at least two published, but having said that, I never read a series one after another until the end without assorted books in between. Not even on re-reads.

I try to stick to series that are finished as I hate waiting for books - which is why I won't be reading A Song of Ice And Fire until he finished, 'cause R. R. Martin is taking extra long do to so!
I never leave a series unfinished. Ever. And I don't switch series without first finishing one, unless the remaining book/s haven't been finished yet.

It is interesting to see how people approach reading a series and good to see but I more wanted to know how do you keep up with buying the books so you can finish the series?? As I seem to have this crazy idea in my mind as to the fact that I have to own every book in the series I am collecting so I can read them when I want etc. And it puts pressure on me etc. I want all the books in the series but I don't see how its possible to catch up when I am way behind.
But at the same time am also trying to slowly catch up as I like my books new hence why I don't buy any books without the full series being available at the one time right now so I don't have more to add to my 90 plus books that I have to finish getting in series I have started. Right now I have managed to complete around 20 series and still have at least 40 series left to get books in (some with only 1 but still) and I don't know how I am going to do it. But hopefully with time and if they don't remove books from printing of those series I can. I also don't like the condition of used books much either as I treat my books so they look brand new when finished. Or as close to that as possible and only seem to like to buy brand new.
Plus it makes me happy to collect and own the books I read. Plus I prefer it this way! Guess though if I just keep plodding along and finish the books I can before buying new series then eventually I will be caught up on them all. That's my hope anyway.
And thanks to everyone for sharing how you read a book and finish series etc its good to know.
Thanks

Recently I have discovered Nook Bundles. I've been buying a lot of series that way. You get the whole set, or a few bundles that make up the whole series, save a ton of money over buying them individually, and they are right there at your fingertips. The only drawback is that the series has to have enough volumes published already to make the bundle worth it.
I was just curious has anyone here ever managed to finish/catch up and own all the series and trilogy's etc that they have started collecting??
I am trying to do this over time and right now I wonder if I will ever manage to finish these series/trilogy's. I have even removed all evidence of new series off of my amazon etc wishlists in order to just catch up on the series I have. Some are new and still being released but most are older and have either just finished being released/finished series or have been finished for awhile and I now need to catch up and finish my collections in them.
I dont know why but even though I haven't managed to read all of them yet I feel like I have to do my best to finish all the series etc that I have. I feel I am slowly catching up but still have 90 plus books to finish getting to catch up yet.
And if I buy new series these days I try to buy series that are already completely finished.
Doe's anyone else have this problem?? Am hoping with time I can catch up and finish them all (lucky for me some are only 1 book left but most are 2 or more books.) Have managed to complete 20 or so series lately and have 39 plus left to finish lol (have decided there's certain series etc that I am not including as its just too much pressure so picked the ones I really wanted to finish instead)
Please let me know I am not alone in feeling this way.
Thanks
p.s. sorry if this is the wrong forum but I couldn't work out where else it could be posted.
