I first read this book about a year ago and have been revisiting chapters this summer as I work with colleagues to further develop and refine our advisory program. I wonder if parents may be interested in engaging in some discussion about the book. One of many rather startling statistics presented in the book is that "teens today are 40 percent less empathetic than thirty years ago" (University of Michigan Monitoring the Future). What do we think about that decline? And how do we feel about what we are doing to address this slide in our consideration of others?
