I seem to be running a month behind. I finished Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus which was picked for me in July. I liked the first 70-80% then it became unlikely and syrupy. Still glad I read it as I have had the paperback lying around the house since the 1990s.

I haven't had much luck with this month's picks. The 42nd Parallel is too challenging a read when it is 100 degrees outside; The False Prince too predictable. I'll give my 3rd (Midnight's Children) a try later this month. Like Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus, it has been sitting around here for over a decade, and the copy I have literally had dust on it.

I finished bookcover:The Turn of the Key|40489648] and really liked it. I did not see the twists coming. Ruth bounced back from which I really did not care for.

Finished The Secrets in My Scowl and it was okay for me. Most my GR friends loved it but I just wasn't crazy about the MC.

Just started The Blacksmith Queen but so far I really like it.
