Dragonfly in Amber
question
Thoughts on re-reading this series?

Since the release of the Outlander series on Starz, I decided to re-read these fantastic books. How are you all enjoying the show and are you re-reading these books?
I re-read #7 when the most recent one finally came in at the library. I find the series is robust enough that I have read all of them several times.
We don't currently have Starz, so I haven't seen anything other than trailer, but most likely I will binge watch when the season is over and you can watch them all.

i've re-read these so many times (least 5 or 6) and I still find new stuff everytime I read or listen
I started the series before starz and I am on The Fiery Cross now. Intend to read them all.
I will absolutely reread them. Not sure if I want to do the stars show only because I was really disappointed in their choice for Jamie. We'll see. But he'll yeah I'll reread this series. This is one series I would love to have on a dessert island if I were stuck.
I read the series 20 years ago. Been watching the series w/a group of girlfriends and decided after the first episode that I needed to re-read the books. I'm so enjoying them! I'm almost finished w/Outlander.
I've seen all the episodes of the Outlander series and I'm quite satisfied, because they have been faithful to the novels of Diana Gabaldon and the writers have consulted the books without taking away his essence, because there have been series that have been very bad adaptations, but here the actors play their characters well, locations are spectacular and manage to capture our attention. I think it's the best job that Starz has done so far.
I'm on about my fifth or sixth re-reading of Fiery Cross right now. I've re-read the whole series, front to back, twice...wanting to go through each time the new book came out (Echo and Written in My Own Heart's Blood)...but I find when the urge to read again hits me, I usually start with Drums of Autumn (although I read my paperback to pieces and need to get another copy now). With me it's like going home and visiting family...it's an escape to a place that's familliar, with people I know and love.
I reread it and loved it even more!!!
