The timing doesn’t quite fit, but the Slated books fits your description. This is part of a description I found of the second book Fractured:“Kyla begins to have memories of someone named Rain and she starts to realize that she is someone else other than Kyla”
Definitely sounds like the Slated series by Terri Terry

The books genre I'd suggest teen fiction, as it is about a teen, there is a lot of drama but it is a little unrealistic so a fantasy or perhaps more of a mystery novel and it has a lot of suspense.

So the main characters REAL name is rain, she doesn't find this out until quite late hence the spoiler. As far as I can remember she is in foster care, she doesn't remember her parents (I think). Her favourite class is art and she has a good bond with the art teacher.
On discovering her true identity she finds out her mind was wiped, like other teens and I believe it was by some terrorist group whom she was a part of (I think).
As far as I can remember she has a sibling older/younger girl who she saves???? But my memory is hazy. Anyway I've tried everything to find this book, I read it 10 years ago at my school library so the book is probably a 2000-2006 novel.
Please help me.
