What? What? Dante better be okay! I mean, I know he will be because there's still over half left! Wow. That was a total shocker!
Hey BookHunters!
Okay so my first thoughts are that Aristotle and Dante's conversations are so so personal and they speak so bluntly. I didn't expect the novel's world to be so raw, I was under the impression there would me more whimsy. But all of the charm and meaning is in their conversations and Ari's thoughts, not in the plot.
Another thing is that this book has a lot of inspiring quotes. Here's one I liked from this section:
"Maybe everybody was kind. Maybe even my father. But Mr. Quintana was brave. He didn't care if the whole world knew he was kind."
Overall I think I really love this book, I personally feel like I really relate to both characters. I hope the story goes on to accurately describe relatable everyday situations that have to do with growing up. But I have a feeling it's going to get strange (in a good way).

Monse wrote: "I liked how the author used the fever to get the truth out of Aristotle because he's very closed off, and this is a way to get intimate and personal with him. Like Dante said, his art can't be show..."
That's a really good point, I think you're totally right!

I love the writing style so far.
I really was not expecting them to get hit by a car though!
But I now realise that this is going to be an important part of the book. I think this scene will be the catalyst for the rest of the story to come.
We get to see some real character development in this part and I love it.
Character development is great :)
I am connecting with both Ari and Dante in little bits and pieces, but I am definitely enjoying the book so far!
