THAT OPENING asking all those questions to emphasise how weird emotions are! Still haven't come up with a decent answer, or maybe I'm interpreting it wrong... (Help anyone?)

I'd identified a lot with Aristotle so far with that it sucks being a teenager, how summer can either drag on or fly by and not really understanding your dad.

I think it was in the goodreads summary that this book was described as lyrical - I agree; not sure how to describe it though.

So far I'm really liking it. :)

I really liked the little intro, the questions really set the tone and I like that they get you thinking right away.

I'm on the fence about Ari's point of view. It's hard to remember the boys at actually 15, they seem younger through his eyes.

Overall I like it so far.

I'm with you guys. It was an interesting opening. I just usually like books to have a plot and it doesn't seem like very much is going to happen during this.

I'm only 23 pages in so I can't really form a proper opinion yet, but so far I'm really not sure how i feel about it! It hasn't caught my attention yet, but hopefully it does as the novel goes on.

From the beginning, I knew I was going to love this book!

Oh my god is all I can say. The book is so charming so far. All the little thoughts Aristotle has hit like hard truths. All the insecurities he has, all the worries he has about his parents I think ring really true.

It reminds me of being fifteen, even though I have some of these inquisitive thoughts now. Just reminds me so much of growing up.

Does anyone else think though that it seems like they're much younger than fifteen? Maybe it's just that Aristotle and Dante are late bloomers.

Pg 6: I really like Ari's POV and way of thinking. But I have to agree with you guys, Ari sounds way more mature and philosophical for the average 15 year old. But that makes me like him! What do you think?

Ok I love it so far. I sat down and read part one last night and I really enjoyed it! This is the first book I've read thats Mexican/American. It's really interesting!
I agree with Sabrina, Ari does sound very philosophical. But then again his name is Aristotle... haha.
First person narration I was not expecting. I thought it would be third person so that we could jump from Ari to Dante. But so far 1st person seems to be working!

I really enjoy this book so far and am really excited to keep reading on to part two!
