I've just joined this group as to broaden my horizon considering English thriller/suspense. I used to read Dutch books only, but I attempt to expand my English vocabulary.
My favourite authors are true crime authors like Karen Rose and Jo Nesbo, and military thriller authors such as Chris Ryan and Brad Thor. I currently try to get my hands on all of Rose's books as the series is so enjoyable. In case you have any recommendations, you can always contact me.
I also try to write a military thriller myself - I'm wanting to make a trilogy. Currently I'm still working on the first book, but I'm making progress fast and hope to finish my first draft before the end of this year. I'm writing it in English as military slang sounds like shit in Dutch ( :P ).
Hobbies other than books are drawing (I recently bought the FC Polychromos coloured pencils) and cuddling with my puppy. I study medical biology with molecular and neurobiology as my specialization, aiming to get a job in the field of science journalism.
I hope to get a lot of inspiration in this group and look forward to discuss about stories and authors with you!
Thanks for reading this and hopefully I will see you later in one of the topics. Love, Nikki
Welcome to the group, Nikki. I hope you enjoy yourself here. As a matter of interest, I've read a couple of Janwillem van de Vetering's Amsterdam cop books and have enjoyed them.
