Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 1592 comments My favourite top 10 books follows:

1. Harry potter series (taught me that friends can be very useful. And also the difference between good and bad). Plus, i haven't completed the whole series yet so my opinion might change from time to time

2. The kite runner (taught me to be open minded and also, there's a chance to be good again, and for you, a thousand times over, and also about sacrifice).

3. A game of thrones (taught me how cruel can the whole world be, and to never lose hope for the best).

4. Treasure island (taught me to never lose hope).

5. A wrinkle in time (taught me what it means to be a family member).

6. Mortal instruments series (taught me that: yes, there are demons and other feirce monster in this world, but instead of being afraid, stand up).

7. Rosewell high: the outsider (taught me so much about friendship and also, aliens:-P).

8. Victorian horror stories (taught me that sometimes, the ghosts are only people who put a mask to scare you) can't tell u why.

I am gonna check my list and post the last two books.

message 4: by Sameea (new)

Sameea 1) the alif bay wala qaeda..helped me learn arabic, without it i wouldnt have been able to read the Qur'an today

2) the Qur'an is ofcourse a guidance for all. Till today it motivates me, i feel renewed after reading even a single verse.

3) 'The very hungry catterpillar' - was the first book most children read including myself. It was an introduction to books - oh the joy!

4) The Secret Bedroom by R.l Stine - is the book which started off my love for reading. it was something i picked out myself at the library, my summer holidays were spent reading point horrors.

5) The Secret Garden was the first book I studied with my class. I really enjoyed it, the teacher then made us watch the movie and compare the two and write a long boring essay.

6) Wuthering Heights was my favourite classic I read for my GSCE exams, its the only book I've read three times. It started my love for classics. Its a little dramatic, but hey, it reminds me of my younger days so its all good. ;-)

7) Dracula started my love for gothic novels.

8) Interview with the Vampire I studied in high school, I started reading more vampire based stories after this.

9) Bitten was one of the earlier YA novels i read which i borrowed from the library, my love for paranormal romance began.

10) The Da Vinci Code was recommended to me by my best friend, we had our first 'buddy read'

10. Alice in wonderland (taught me that sometimes, dreaming can take you very far away).

Wow, i never really realised how much these books taught me untill now, great job

message 6: by Mahnoor (last edited Sep 10, 2014 09:22AM) (new)

Mahnoor (noor155) 1. Harry Potter series. (affected me in in more ways than I can write.)

2. Revolution (taught me how to look at things from all sorts of perspectives. Also taught me its always important to never let go of your values and never stop doing good, no matter how insignificant is feels/is)

3. Perks of being a wallflower. (no idea how it affected me. I guess its really honest)

4. The boy in the striped pajamas (Made me sympathetic)

5. Hunger Games. (You can literally relate every issue in that book to Pakistan, like no joke)

6. To kill a mockingbird. (importance of truth. Made me more sympathetic and open to injustice around us)

7. Peter Pan. (still awesome to this day. Makes me so nostalgic)

8. Roald Dahl's books. I read a lot of them in my childhood.

These are all I can think about!
P.S Also, this goes without mentioning that Quran is the most influential book I have ever read. Didn't want to put it out here with all this fiction stuff. Its not just a book, its a way of life.
