Trask was able to elude capture primarily because he couldn’t be identified. Should the FBI have been able to accomplish what Dillon did if Merritt hadn’t interfered?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments This required a great deal of suspension of disbelief. It was so easy to track the real Trask down once they put effort into it. I cannot believe that no one questioned Charles Morton more thoroughly to find out who his son's friends were.

At the very least, they should have done a background check on Roger and interviewed the headmaster at Stonebridge.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I call plot devise on this one. They definitely should have been able to identify Trask.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments It didn't take very long for Dillon to figure things out. I definitely believe that the FBI cold have done the same thing.

I believe they would have figured out his identity earlier if Merritt hadn’t interfered. All of his efforts were towards proving himself right and locating Kate. He lost his perspective, which impacted the investigation. He has a lot of lives on his head.
