Margo Tweaked what was tweakable and cleared browser history. It is usable now but nowhere near as clear and easy to read as it used to be. At least i can read my own posts without resorting to cap lock

Thanks all for help ;)

Seraphina Hopefully will be sorted soon, we've all complained about it, they can't ignore that. At least you've a temporary fix

Margo Copy of GR reply to to my complait:

Hi Margaret,

Thank you for your email, though I'm sorry to hear the new font has caused problems for you! The recent font changes we made were intended to improve readability of the site. We did have an issue with font rendering that was fixed yesterday - would you mind clearing your browser's cache and checking Goodreads again to see if that fixes the issue for you?

If this doesn't resolve the issue you're encountering with spacing, would you mind sending in a screenshot, as well as details of what browser you're using? We can pass this along to the design team to ensure it's not a bug.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

Best,
Meg

Bit better Seraphina . Still problems with tighter line spacing which makes it harder to read. It's weird that the problem only seems to affect posts, general text , such as blurb about books, is OK. Doesn't sound like GR are planning to do anything about it.

Margo OK a friend on an other group gave me this link which made things much clearer for me

Susan | 4707 comments I would like to delete some books of my to-be - read shelf but it keeps giving me a message that it is a protected shelf and I can't do it. Can anyone help me?

message 108: by Seraphina (new)

Seraphina Go into your bookshelves list and untick the protected shelf button, then you should be able to delete away

message 109: by SherryRose (new)

SherryRose | 0 comments I never heard of the protected shelf button. You learn something new every day.

message 110: by Seraphina (new)

Seraphina It's generally so you don't accidentally delete your read folder, but you should be able to delete TBR reads without any issues, it might just be ticked as a protected shelf

message 111: by SherryRose (new)

SherryRose | 0 comments It's a good idea. It's easy to click the wrong thing. Especially if you use a tablet.

Hi Paul. Thomas here. I am getting a bit of a run around in trying to upload book covers. I need a librarian to do it, it seems and can't post a comment to the librarians without becoming one. what am I doing wrong, or are all the librarians gone back to the North Pole for another year?

message 113: by Paul (new)

Paul Technocally any Goodreads member can add a new edition of a book. It is a bit fiddly though .

Donna McCaul Thibodeau (celtic_donna) | 1150 comments Does anyone know if it's possible to show a reread of a book? I'm planning to reread the Outlander books soon and know that it shows I've already read them.
Never mind, I found out if you click on a book that you've already read, it automatically marks it as a reread. Technology is wonderful!

Donna McCaul Thibodeau (celtic_donna) | 1150 comments I guess I'll find out, Declan!

Bookworm with Kids If you go into the book on Goodreads on a computer, it gives you the option of putting a book down as a reread. It will then count towards your yearly total for the Reading Challenge.

What an ambitious goal.
