I read this book prior to 2000 and left it on a plane. I had picked it up in a trade, just before the trip.
PLOT: Female Protag learns she won't get promoted to head writer, and that a new head writer will be leading team. She is upset...and then is surprised to meet him and discover that he is severely disabled.
She has a disabled son that she has been hiding from the world.
He makes fun of his disability and teaches her and her son how to manage being-disabled and not lose a sense of humor.
I laughed my head off and raced through the book during the flight. Finished it but left it on the airplane. I tried to find it later when I realized I had left it, but I forgot the author and title and the internet was not strong back then.
