Hi Guys,
What is the theme of marriages, I have to write an esaay about the ways women are represented in the taming of the shrew??

There are only three female characters in the play (unless you count the barmaid in the amusing Induction): Katerina, Bianca, and The Widow.

Two of these characters are married; the third has been married and is now being wooed by a suitor rejected by the first two.

For an essay, you can compare the actual marriages of Katerina and Bianca (we are given no information on the former marriage of The Widow), or you can look at what each suitor expects from a marriage versus what each woman expects from a marriage.
