Brandon Varnell So I've been looking for some new books to read, but haven't been able to find anything that catches my interest. I'm surprisingly picky. Does anyone know of any good tales of fiction that have a combination of romance, action/adventure and a hint of comedy?

Jennifer (alphawolfseries) | 12 comments Not wanting to sound like I am making some shameless self-promotion, but I think you might enjoy my book. It is called Demon's Prize. It has some history, a touch of horror and a few comical jokes peppered in it. It is predominantly paranormal based, but I made sure it was a page turner for any person who likes to read.

Check out the website. In it, there are links to it on Amazon and Facebook. It already has well over 1,800 likes on Facebook, so you know it's got to be good.

Hope you check it out!

Michael Obiora (michael_obiora) | 48 comments I'd recommend Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche's Half of a Yellow Sun. It set during the Biafra War - which is obviously not going to be a light subject - but it actually has the combination you're looking for.

Jim Vuksic The Stolen Child by Keith Donohue. Published in 2006.

The double story of Henry Day begins in 1949, when he is kidnapped at age 7 by a band of wild childlike beings who live in an ancient, secret community in the forest. The changelings rename their captor Aniday and he becomes, like them, unaging and stuck in time. They leave one of their own to take his place, an imposter who must try - with varying success - to hide his true identity from the Day family.

Denise Kawaii (kawaiitimes) | 19 comments If you add Zombies to the list you have, I'd say Until the End of the World by Sarah Lyons Fleming. Her story is about a group of people fleeing New York after a virus outbreak. There is love, adventure, friendship, and there are some funny bits in there.

Hi Brandon

I have been looking for similar reads lately after finding the Parasol Protectorate series by Gail Carriger was $19.99 for all five books on my nook. The series is paranormal/fantasy, but really it has it all. Romance/steampunk but not like hardcore, lots of action and the best part is the wit of the main character. I giggled and even laughed out loud throughout the whole series. So much fun! I did find some other fun reads too if you're interested.

I would like to offer up my book Fire and Fangs its a PNR/UF with plenty of action in it. Have you tried Moon Called by Patricia Briggs? I'm up to date in this series and I loved it.

I actually have read the books by Patricia Briggs. They're pretty good. I'm more of a Dresden Files fan, but I really liked those books too. I'll be sure to check out your book when my next paycheck comes in. ^_^

Devi (views_she_writes) Just finished Sinister which is a YA book, somewhere on the lines of Harry Potter and Artemis Fowl and Curveball which is a romance novel but with an amazing twist. Had fun with both.
Check out my reviews at Sinister (Sinisters #1) and Curveball

Comments and suggestions are always welcome

Kevin Chilvers (kevinchilversauthor) | 47 comments Hi,
You could also try the Black magician Triology by Trudi Canavan. I started reading and couldn't put it down until I'd finished the last book.

B.R. Jensen (brjensen) | 11 comments Hey Brandon,

I definitely get being picky about books. I'm the same way, personally. I nitpick the writing, grammar, spelling, etc, etc, etc.

It might be a bit of a shameless plug, but if my picky nature made it into my book properly, the story could be right up your alley.

See if Amazon will let you get a sample here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PL9MXXW

If not, please feel free to reply here or message me directly and I'll get you a sample to check out.
