Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Girl A is a skilled bounty hunter, but not just any bounty hunter: one of the best intergalactic time travelling bounty hunters in the business. She has been described as detached and heartless, both traits that are necessary to succeed in such a line of business. To her each person she tracks down is merely a pay check. She doesn't care to hear their stories or question why they are being tracked down.
Guy A is a runaway prince with a hefty price over his head. . . and he just so happens to be her next target. As usual, things go smoothly for the seasoned bounty hunter. . . until she gets notice of a time sensitive, high payout job that is too good to pass up. Despite her better judgement she decides to take guy a along, sure that it will just be another there and back again jobs.
Unfortunately her time travel mechanism glitches and then breaks, sending and trapping the two in the old west- a place full of lawlessness, horses, cowboys, and painfully low tech.
With no connection to the future world and no immediate way to fix her time travel device, girl A is left with no choice but to deal with the hand she was dealt. Girl A, still determined to get her payout, starts searching for a way to fix her device, all the while making sure guy A is given no chance to escape. With such close quarters it's impossible not to learn about guy A though . . . and they might just get closer than she intended.

Anna Awesome!! What age would you prefer for the guy?

message 3: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Doesn't really matter to me. You can make him whatever age you think is best. I'm planning on making my character in either very late teens (like 19) or more likely very early 20s just because I think that will work best for this plot.

message 4: by Anna (new)

Anna Okay. That's what I was thinking for my character. How detailed do you want the characters?

message 5: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Honestly I prefer just doing the basics, but I'm alright with including whatever you want to.

message 6: by Anna (new)

Anna Sure! How about appearance, age, name, personality? We can add other stuff in later during the rp.

message 7: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Sounds great to me!

Anna Awesome! Do you mind going first?

message 14: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments One thing Dasha would never get used to was the looks she got while doing a job. It was like people had never seen a five foot something girl dragging around an unconcious body before. Simpletons.
She had learned years back that it was best just to go right to artificially induced unconsciousness. It cut out the unnecessary talk and the hassle of an overdramatic fight sequence. All she had to do was slap on the specialized wrist cuff that teathered them within a certain distance of her, load the unlucky target up, turn them over at the proper location, and collect her cash. It did get a bit boring actually.
The prince was certainly proving to be heavier than what he looked. According to her calculations he should be coming to soon, it had nearly been fifteen minutes- the maximum time that the injection was said to be effective. Dasha stopped at a bench, there was still two blocks to the vehicle that she had brought here and there was no way that she was going to drag him the whole way. She already had a small audience watching her. ". . . A little too much to drink I'm afraid." She explained loudly to the four or so people watching her in any direction. She offered out a small, sheepish looking smile "I told him he should pace himself more." This seemed to please the onlookers and they slowly dispersed, life going on on the street as usual.
Dasha sat down on the bench she had stopped by, leaving the deadweight of a prince on the sidewalk to wait for him to regain consciousness. Hopefully it wouldn't take long, she still wanted to get in one more job this evening.

message 15: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments ((yikes, that was long, sorry))

message 16: by Anna (new)

Anna ((It's okay!
I honestly was going to just take a little quick nap then fell asleep for a few hours XD))

((Oh and does the cuff just look like a bracelet, but in fact actually has an invisible tether, or is it visible? It sounds like a really good idea!))

Jarin started coming to a few minutes later, grunting softly and moving a little. He slowly opened his eyes and stared up blearily at the sky above him, his brain not yet catching up to where he was or why he was lying on the sidewalk instead of still heading through the alley to get farther and farther away from his fancy palace.
Jarin slowly rolled to his side and frowned, staring at a few of the cars as they passed by.
"What the...?" He got to his knees and stayed braced like that for a minute, then when his head lifted up a bit, he saw the girl.
The girl was pretty, he thought, and he wondered why she was just sitting there on the bench. Jarin's frown deepened.
"Who are you and what happened?" He asked uncertainly.

message 17: by Anna (new)

Anna ((Is that okay for length?))

message 18: by Anna (new)

Anna ?

message 19: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments ((So sorry for the really delayed reply, I had a lengthy project for a class sprung on me last minute, and this week I have another big project due so my replies might still be spread out but hopefully not as bad))
((Yeah, that post length is perfect. And yep, looks like a bracelet and has an invisible tether or just a distance allowance in general.))

"Good, you're awake." Dasha stated instead of answering his question. She had been starting to wonder if she had gotten the dosage wrong. She had done so once before, when she had first been starting out and hadn't yet made a name for herself. The guy had ended up being out for two whole days. It hadn't been a major error on her end, she had started with the safe baseline for his approximate height and weight. She had just over estimated his tolerance and factored it too high. At least that hadn't been the case here.
She stood up from the bench, not bothering to even offer her latest captee a hand up "No time for frivolous introductions, we need to get moving again. I've lost enough time already."

message 20: by Anna (new)

Anna ((It's okay! And okay.))

Jarin frowned again. "Wait a second. What are you talking about?" He slowly stood, the effect of the dosage still making him a bit dizzy. He folded his arms across his chest, not noticing the bracelet on his wrist. "I don't know what you're talking about." He stood there for a long while, totally miffed as to what this girl was talking about. "Heck, I don't even know why I'm here. I wasn't last I remember." He turned and started heading down the road opposite of the girl.

message 21: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha didn't supply any answer to his question. It would take too long to explain and he would have an answer soon enough anyway as she was handing him over. It was best to not chance causing more of a scene than necessary in public areas such as this anyway.
". . . You're not going to get very far going that direction." She stated matter of factly, watching with a knowing smirk as he started off in the opposite direction of which she needed to go. She knew that within about ten feet he would be brought to a screeching halt, like he had run into a solid brick wall. To help speed things along a bit she slowly started off in the direction she wanted to go. Once that distance was reached he would be forced to stumble along no matter if he wanted to or not.

message 22: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin kept walking, and soon the invisible lead stretched out to its maximum. He seemed to stumble to a stop, unable to keep going.
"What?" He muttered irritably. As the girl kept walking, he started stumbling backwards, being forced to follow her.
"What's going on?" Jarin snapped, having to follow. He turned and started walking after her, clearly annoyed.
"Start explaining why I can't go where I please."

Jarin started to worry. Great. Here he was, having tried to run away from his duty as being the king, and now some random stranger was somehow forcing him to follow her. He shook his head.

message 23: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Now that he was following, Dasha picked up the pace a bit, eager to make up lost time. "Such a snippy tone, I didn't expect such to come from the mouth of a prince." She remarked, half amused. She hadn't dealt with anyone of noble blood before and she hadn't been quite sure what to expect. Of course this guy did have a hefty price over his head which was probably a good indicator that he shouldn't be used as a baseline judgement.
". . . Here's a word I'm sure you haven't heard very often- No. I'm not required nor do I have the time to explain much of anything. Perhaps if you would have asked nicely . . ." She shrugged, letting the statement drop. "Do you still feel nauseous at all?" she asked. "I don't want you throwing up in the car or the rental place won't give me the deposit back."

message 24: by Anna (new)

Anna ((What would happen if Jarin tried to yank back on his wrist or started trying to pull? He is pretty strong but don't know if that works.))

Jarin glared back at her. "I hear no quite a lot. You obviously know nothing about royalty. It's not what you think. It's not just where you can do anything you want and be some sort of brat."

As they walked faster, Jarin thought a moment. Of course he did feel sick still, but he didn't want this girl to try anything. So instead he shook his head. "I'm fine."
And of course she was going to take him some place, probably to turn him in for the huge price on his head.

message 25: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments ((He could definitely try, and maybe be successful to some degree before she recalibrates the settings or whatever))

Dasha simply ignored his comment. She really had no interest in what he had to say or what he thought, in about twenty minutes she would be rid of him and have her pay check in hand. That's all that mattered. Then she could move on to her next job and repeat, her list of captees ever growing. What number was this anyway? She had to think back to the last set of paperwork she had filled out before remembering.
She was doubtful that his answer was truthful, almost everyone felt sick and/or actually got sick for about a half hour to an hour after regaining conciousnes. "Alright number 5,437" she never bothered learning names nor was she ever supplied with them- she just got the basics to review when she took a job; height, age, other general appearance factors, and any important rankings they held. "but you're wanted dead or alive. Right now I'm planning on it being the latter, but if you do indeed throw up in the car all bets are off." The thicker of the two metal bracelets on her wrist beeped and flashed a glowing powder blue, a signal that she had an incoming message. She lifted her wrist and touched the smooth surface with her other hand, turning it on to read through the new notification. She wasn't concerned all that much about watching her current captee, it wasn't like this century had anything that could be a threat to her. This job should be a cakewalk, it was the jobs closer to her own time that required more attention and effort to ensure her own safety.

message 26: by Anna (new)

Anna ((Okay.))

"Okay, fine. I'm pretty sure I'll throw up, and you pulling me along somehow is really not helping." Jarin said, coming to a stop. He didn't know how he was being dragged along mercilessly like this, but he didn't want it to continue. When the girl paused to check something on her wrist, Jarin suddenly yanked backwards, using his strength to fight against the invisible cord. He kept pulling backwards, causing the girl to stumble and this time, be pulled herself. Let her feel what it was like, being treated like an animal.

Jarin saw the bracelet around his wrist finally-why he hadn't checked earlier for one he didn't know-and started trying to pull it off. He yanked it towards his wrist in an attempt to somehow get it over his hand and off.

message 27: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha gasped as she was suddenly yanked backwards, almost loosing her balance. It only took her half a second to realize what was happening. She needed to reset the baseline to account for his strength and balance it out. If she had a newer set it would do it automatically, but she was still considered old school in the business with her slightly outdated technology. If it still worked and wasn't broke why would she bother replacing something just because there were newer models available? Right now she could sort of see the value in doing so. She quickly tapped the slimmer band on her wrist and made a few jerky swipes as she was pulled along across the curved screen. Both the one on her wrist and the one on his glowed a deep crimson as it recalibrated before fading into a light silver and then going completely blank again. Just as suddenly as she had been jerked along, it stopped. She gave the prince an icy glare, a result of being frustrated by the inconvenience more than anything. She watched him try to pull the bracelet like cuff off, knowing all that he would succeed in was breaking the skin around his wrist and bloodying his hand if he kept at it long enough. She knew they were indestructible, once she had seen s
a set of these cuffs survive a literal nuclear blast. "Are you always this much of a royal pain in the a-" she was cut off by a second flash on the band she had been messing with before, this time it was green though, indicating that it was quite urgent. She quickly checked it, knowing whatever was on it would certainly be more important than this.

message 28: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin didn't stop yanking on the cuff for several more minutes. He couldn't pull away from her anymore, much to his disappointment. He had irritated the skin around his wrist, so he decided he could try to get it off some other time. By then, though, it was probably already too late.
He smirked at her. "I think you probably should be asking yourself that question." Inwardly, his stomach rolled again. It was both with nervousness, as well as the sick feeling from being drugged.
Jarin's fists clenched, making his arm muscles flex. He was really hating being treated like a dog.

message 29: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Normally Dasha would have been ready to fire back with some smart reply, but she had hardly even registered the fact that he had spoken. She reread the details that flashed across the screen of the thicker band one more time. $250,000,000. Wanted alive, retrieved from the year 2098. 18:15. That was less than ten minutes from now. Dealing with this guy was going to take at least twenty, but more than likely double that. She stared down at her two options: Accept Decline. Her finger hovered over the decline option, but she paused, not quite able to bring herself to click it. That was a lot of easy money to decline. More on impulse than anything she ended up moving her finger and selecting the 'Accept' option. It wasnt until after she had clicked it that she began to doubt her choice again. "Slight change in plans, we're headed back this way." She announced, starting forward and walking past him in the direction they had just come from.

message 30: by Anna (new)

Anna "Stop yanking me around." Jarin muttered, though he knew it was useless. Suddenly they were headed in a different direction. He wondered what would happen if he sat behind something, like a parked car or bench, and she just kept walking. Would it force the bench or car forward, or would they just be stuck there?
He didn't try it, anyway, and followed irritably after the girl.
"What are we doing now?"

message 31: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha rolled her eyes at his first statement but didn't say anything despite her urge to do so. " . . . We're going on a bit of a field trip." She answered. ". . . Which for you will mean about an hour more of semi freedom, if you give me any trouble though I will make sure it is highly unpleasant."
After about a block she turned down a narrow alley way.
Luckily she had been sent to this area before and had an idea of where she was going.

message 32: by Anna (new)

Anna "Going to go find other people to drag around?" Jarin said, storming after her down the alley. "If you don't know already, being a prince doesn't offer me much freedom at all."

message 33: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha ignored his first comment, neither confirming nor denying such. "Oh how tragic." Dasha boredly stated. She held up her hand, rubbing her thumb and pointer finger together not even bothering to spare a glance back to him, "Here's the world's smallest violin, playing just for you." Then as her hand dropped back to her side added as a mumbled after thought " . . . I think that phrase is relevant in this century and dimension." She had a hard time remembering what phrases came from which zone and time. They had all sort of run together in her mind. They reached a section where the alley split into two directions with no option to continue straight. Dasha didnt even have to think about it before she turned left, down the option that ended about 300 feet up ahead with a graffiti covered brick wall blocking any further movement.

message 34: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin rolled his eyes, deciding not to respond to her sarcastic comment. Instead, he followed her back into the alley.
"Okay. So what's your plan? Going to climb the bricks?" He smirked.

message 35: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments "Something like that." Dasha replied, feeling it useless to react further to his comment. She would let what was about to happen speak for its self. Within a few seconds they were standing before the brick wall, looming dark and solid overhead. Dasha paused, scanning it over. After about a minute she found what she was looking for. "Ah! There." She found a brick with a carving in it- two opposite facing parentheses with a dot on both the top and the bottom of where the two curved lines met. The moon glyph for time. With a bit of force she was able to push it inwards, the carved portion and the thicker band on her wrist glowing a white silver. After typing in something on her wrist a door way appeared- or rather a rectangle of white silver light that matched the cuff on her wrist and the brick with the carving. She messed with the band at her wrist some more, inputting the date and area which she needed. "Where we're going you might be tempted to touch something- a little word of advice, don't. If whatever you touch doesn't kill you, which there is a high likelihood that it will, then I will. Got it?"

message 36: by Anna (new)

Anna "Yes, ma'am." Jarin said sarcastically. "I'm not going to touch anything. Besides, I bet that as soon as you turn me in I'll already be facing trouble." He crossed his arms, watching the girl closely. "So who exactly are you? Bounty Hunter?"

message 37: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments "Fair conclusion seeing as that's how these things sort of go down." Dasha commented as she input a couple more settings. The doorway of silvery white light shifted to a tone of violet, signaling that it was ready to be used. ". . . Not just a bounty hunter, I just so happen to be one of the best in the business." She informed him matter of factly. She tapped the brick that was pushed in, causing it to spring outwards to it's original position. They would have about thirty seconds to go through the doorway before it dissapeared and she would have to start all over again. "Alright, captured princes first." She said, gesturing to the doorway.

message 38: by Anna (new)

Anna "I see." He shrugged. Jarin glanced at the open doorway, then yawned and sat down, crossing his legs. "Sorry. It's always been ladies first." He gave her a charming smile, rubbing his muscly arms.

message 39: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha rolled her eyes when she saw him sit down. She didn't have time for this and she was starting to believe that she wasn't getting paid enough for this. She had drug around his unconcious dead weight earlier, she could certainly do it again if it came to it. She had a couple tricks up her sleeve before it came to that though. "Are you sure you want to play this game?" She questioned in an unsettlingly calm tone. ". . . Since I am feeling generous I'll allow you one more chance. Captured princes first." She repeated, firmer and in a more authoritative tone of voice than before.

message 40: by Anna (new)

Anna "I don't know what's back in there. If it's really no big deal, go in yourself. How do I know you aren't going to just shut me up in there and leave me? I don't have those kinds of bracelet things you do to move the bricks." Jarin said, frowning. He really didn't want to underestimate the girl, because she didn't seem weak, but he also didn't want to go and risk himself first. When he thought about it, he was probably already risking himself with his attitude.

message 41: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Dasha was silent a moment. She could sort of understand that logic. "Fine." She breathed a heavy sigh. "We'll go through at the same time." She stated with an air of finality. She figured the door should be just wide enough. She needed him to be in her line of sight for this so there could be no other compromise.

message 42: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin rolled his eyes, but stood and waited for her to start moving forward. Together they walked into the doorway. He pressed up against the side so they could both fit in, and stepped across into the room.

message 43: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments Past the doorway it was little more than a plain white space. Once through, the doorway behind them dissapeared, removing the the alley they had just come from from sight. There was a brief moment of calmness before the room seemed to emit it's own blinding flash of light. It lasted for a solid five seconds. In those five seconds Dasha felt the familiar numbness that bending the time-space continuum brought about starting at her fingertips before spreading to the rest of her body. Just as suddenly as the brightness had come it dissapeared, leaving them in darkness. The area that they were in had changed. The only light came from around the edges of what appeared to be a door. It was impossible to make out anything else in the darkness. Dasha reached forward and felt around for the door knob. "Remember, no. touching. anything." She reminded as her hand fell on a piece of cool metal.

message 44: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin stumbled back when the flashes of light passed, squeezing his eyes shut. He had never witnessed anything of the sort in his past. His head seemed to stab with pain, and the nausea he had been experiencing had increased.
"I know, I know." He swallowed, holding his stomach. "What just happened? I think I'm going to throw up..." He gritted his teeth and gulped down the rising feeling that made him feel like he would vomit all over the place.

message 45: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments "Oh, no. Not in here you're not." If all went well they would be back here in a maximum of fifteen minutes and she didn't want to have to dodge that mess. She quickly opened the door, ushering him quickly out. Dasha had forgotten the effect that time travel had on those who were not well practiced in it. By now she was more than used to it. It wasn't until the door closed behind them that she realized things looked off, starting with the dirt underfoot. It was well into the night here but she could make out the silhouette of small rustic buildings against the night sky. Definitely not the industrious towers that pierced the sky in her intended travel time. ". . . This definitely isn't 2098."

message 46: by Anna (new)

Anna Jarin threw up all over the dusty ground, heaving violently. He grabbed his head and spat out the taste in his mouth. He wiped his lips and straightened, glancing around.
"Where are we then?"
Time travel. He had never done such a thing before. It was confusing, but it wasn't like he could do anything.

message 47: by Anna (new)

Anna ((Just as a heads up I am going to be gone July 28-August 3.
I will return!))

message 48: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments ((Alright, thanks for letting me know!))

Dasha made sure she was well out of the way. She glanced around, getting a better sense of the time period. "From the looks of it I'd say somewhere around the mid 1870s." She answered, mostly to get oriented herself. "The mechanism must have glitched, it's been rumored to happens about once every 500, 000 uses . . . Once you have recovered we'll get on our way." She stated, not sounding the least bit concerned. Really it was just a mere inconvenience.

message 49: by Anna (new)

Anna ((No problem.))

Jarin nodded, slightly interested, but at the same time, remembering that he was still a prisoner.
"Let's go walk around first. I've never been to the 1870s, or any other time period. Come on." He gave her a curious look, raising a brow. "It can't be that big of a deal. All I want to do is check this place out like anyone else would want."

A ways off there was the neigh of a horse. If he strained his ears enough, he could hear a bit of ragtime piano music in the distance from a close tavern.

message 50: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (papergalaxies) | 2178 comments "Absolutely not." Dasha responded almost as soon as the request had left his mouth. "It is a big deal actually." She informed him matter of factly as she started getting things ready to leave, poking inputs into the command cuff on her wrist. "You have not had any vaccinations against the diseases of this time period and you could very well be harboring more advanced germs from your time that could be devastating to this century. I refuse to even chance being responsible for one small slip up that could destroy the future of the human race in it's entirety."
