Tiffany Bautista | 1 comments Hi. I am trying to figure out the name of a book series my 2nd grade teacher read to my class back in the early 2000’s. The book may be a children’s book or young adult. The book series focuses on the life of an African American slave girl and gives us insight of her life from childhood to her teenage life. I think she may have been free later in the series. I’m not sure if this book is based on a real person or fictional, but I would like to find and purchase the book for my family. I think the book was called Little Ann, Little Ann, Little Lettie or something like that. Does anyone know this book?

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 85 where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

arratavy | 157 comments It's not from the American Girls collection, Meet Addy: An American Girl by Connie Rose Porter, is it? It is a 6 book series centered around the Civil War and is rated for middle grades, making it a good read aloud for second graders.
