Hello! I am looking for some readers to help me with my historical fiction novel. It's about 97K

Here is a short summary: Mels Bondar is an under-the-table tour guide who smuggles curious visitors in and out of the restricted zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant. When his old friend Zorya returns to Ukraine in 1993 after years abroad, she enlists Mels' help looking for a binder of old documents she believes may remain in the nearby ghost town of Prypiat. Now Mels is forced to reexamine the shared past of his and Zorya's families he has avoided for so long--a past tied to the horrible events of the explosion of Reactor Number 4.

Note: my story contains descriptions of severe injuries, abuse, and drug use.

I am looking for your general impressions about the story, your thoughts about characters, pacing, and plot. If you are interested I would like to give you a list of more specific questions after you've finished reading.
Spelling and grammar editing is helpful, but at this time I am more interested in your feedback about the content/plot.
