Mayko

Do you like to listen to music while you read? If so what are you listening to?

Today I'm in a Black Eyed Peas type of mood:

The Black Eyed Peas Top 100

Samantha | 117 comments You know I don't even listen to music when reading. I get distracted by it. Like I want to pop it while jamming. LOL. I can have the tv on in the background though. I love Black Eyed Peas though.

Mayko I love to listen to music and read. For some strange reason I prefer to youtube the top 100 (or whatever) of a group or artist I like and let it play in the background. If I ever became a writer I would probably need tunes in the background while I did that too LOL. Plus I have loud obnoxious neighbors and it helps to tune them out.

Mayko I haven't tried to write anything yet but looking forward to it.

Christi (scrapbookjunkie) | 44 comments I read and write to music and often include a list of the ones I listened to most often in the 'Fun Facts' section of each book. The music, for me, is like a movie soundtrack. If I'm reading a book that has already been made into a movie, I will buy the soundtrack and listen to it. Really enhances the experience. Twilight is a great example. If there is no soundtrack available, I use thunderstorm recordings most often. When writing, I have a playlist of instrumental and a few choice pieces that spark different emotions, depending on the mood I need for the particular scene.

I love thunderstorms! That is a brilliant idea, thank you so much for sharing :)

Today is a Katy Perry day for me.

Christi (scrapbookjunkie) | 44 comments You're welcome. I like them because they are mood neutral and relaxing. Good for both reading and writing.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments Lately I've been a wee bit obsessed with Walk Off the Earth...

'Red Hands' and their covers of 'Rude' and 'Trouble' are my favorites.

Mayko Do you listen to them when you read, write or both?

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I listen to Classical when I read. Or New Age. It's nice background noise while not distracting me from the book I am indulging in.

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments Blues and jazz are my favorite, but I like and listen to all kinds of music. Not much for rap or hip hop.
