James Hold | 11 comments I need help finding a song. I did some spring cleaning on about a million music files I never listen to & find now I may have been too aggressive about it.

Specifically I'm looking for a LONG (14 to 18 minute) Krautrock instrumental that has a motorik beat thruout. I first thought it was by Can only all I find is 'Halleuwah' and that ain't it since that has vocals--of a sort anyway. Also it's much longer than Neu!'s 'Hallogallo'.

I'm sorry if I'm vague but it's all I have other than it was a relatively well-known act (not that my relatives ever heard of them) and not some group known only in Europe & not here.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dirk Van | 61 comments Besides Can and NEU!, you have Ashra Temple, Amon Düül II, Cluster, Faust, Popol Vuh and Tangerine Dream and of course Kraftwerk...
All others I can think of are much less known.
Do you have a time frame (early or late seventies?)

"Autobahn" by Kraftwerk, 22 minutes plus I believe. Dating myself horribly here, but that song took up one whole side of the vinyl album of the same name.

James Hold | 11 comments Thank you both for your helpful suggestions. I like Kraftwerk but they're strictly electronic. I have some Amon Duul 2 and Faust but they seem to break down into noise in the middle of their long songs. What I distinctly remember is this hypnotic drum beat (on a regular kit) that was repetitive like 'Hallogallo' but more up front. It dominated to where the guitars were almost insignificant. ... Or who knows? Maybe it's been so long ago that I totally misremember it. Thanks again & I'll keep exploring.

James Hold | 11 comments No, that's not it because this has no guitars & it's electronic percussion... BUT... It's a terrific track and I've downloaded it with https://ytmp3.cc/.

Thanks for making me aware of it!

Dirk Van | 61 comments You're welcome.
They only made a couple of records but the last one in 1976 was with Brian Eno:
