It might be a good idea to hide spoilers for chapter 2 until most of us have caught up with the momentous events.

I do have to say that the miniseries makes one major and, to my mind, unforgivable change to the plot. (view spoiler)

The film scene that had me in tears was the Armistice Day dinner when (view spoiler) Howarth is another one of my favorite characters and Alan MacNaughtan perfectly captures him in that scene.
