ABANDONED. fiction has to do with the holocaust but it doesn’t really tell you that she’s jewish or it’s ww2 like it’s just a normal book at first with her talking about normal things

i read a book like more than 5 years ago around the time i was in elementary (i’m a senior) and it’s about a girl but she doesn’t know what’s going on and neither do you the reader like it doesn’t really tell you that she’s jewish or it’s ww2 like it’s just a normal book at first with her talking about normal things like about this boy but then at the end stuff starts happening and you’re finding out that it’s the holocaust and it’s a total surprise and then it’s really sad. i thought it was stargirl but that’s about something totally different so i’m really confused now

What about Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It's about a girl during the Holocaust, and has "star" in the title which could have led to the confusion with Stargirl. Maybe?
