Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) Hey everyone,

I have changed my challenge. I am going to get through 26 books in alphabetical title game. I think it will be quite challenging, as well as fun. Two things that turn me on. I have decided not to do the 100 books one. This is more challenging.

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) Darn! I was hoping to have a book on the alphabet list to cover all the letters. I am short a Q and an X. Well, at least they are very hard to find. I'll find them, though. Just wait and see.

message 5: by Charity (last edited Mar 12, 2008 08:59AM) (new)

Charity (charityross) If you can find a title that begins with X, that's great! On the challenge page I started here: *A-Z Title Challenge* , you only need to find a book that has X in its title (like Don Quixote...or one of the titles you already have listed, Seventeen Seventy-Six)...which is a little simpler, but not as easy as it sounds. But, like I said, if you can find a title that starts with X, that is fantastic!

message 6: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I don't believe it. I actually found a Q and an X. I didn't believe it would be possible, but it was. I now have all of my books picked out.

message 7: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I don't believe it. I am about to start reading two of them on my list and have six more on hold at the library. This is just too cool!

message 8: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I have made several changes since I first put the list out. I changed all of the weird letters. At least I got something for them all.

message 9: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) If you take a gander at my list, you won't recognize it. I have changed at least fifteen of the letters to different titles that I liked better after I saw them. Sometimes, I changed a title more than once on the same letter. I don't know if this is allowed, but it gives me something to do that is fun and rewarding.

message 10: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) When I am done with this list, I shall start another list of A-Z authors. The titles came pretty quickly. I don't know as many authors as I should. Maybe I should have started out with that one in the first place. Anyway, planning out the two lists and then reading all of the books on both lists should keep me busy for quite some little time to come.

message 11: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I am currently reading B - Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo.

message 12: by Kayte (new)

Kayte (kaytecostello) | 47 comments oh! i cannot wait to read Bridge of Sighs. how are you liking it so far?

message 13: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I was very disappointed in it. I thought that the premise was good. Two high school friends part, and might come back together in Venice. However, I didn't think it delivered. As a matter of fact, I didn't even get halfway through the book before I put it away for good. I know that there have been a lot of people who have given it a positive review, but it did absolutely nothing for me. To each his own. There was no excitement or happiness in the book, IMHO.

message 14: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I will now start reading my "N" book, Neverwhere. I hope that Neverwhere is better.

message 15: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I have read as much as possible from Bridge of Sighs. I read X Out of Wonderland. It was a very tongue-in-cheek satire of the world condition. I read it in one night. I thought that it was very interesting and well-written. I would read more of Cates' books.

message 17: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I am close to finished with C Cat's Cradle. I will then start Northhanger Abbey by Jane Austin (A in author list).

message 18: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I have finished B - Bridge of Sighs
C - Cat's Cradle
X - X Out of Wonderland

I am currently reading Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen - A and Emma - E

I changed David Copperfield to Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep - Philip K. Dick for D.

I have a few books in the wings that are ready to read when I finish these two.

I am picking up my pace or I'll never get both my title and author books read by next March.

message 19: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I just changed the T in the title list from Tropic of Cancer to Through the Looking Glass.

I found an X for my author list. Xu Xi - The Unwalled City.

message 20: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I have decided that reading two Jane Austen books in a row might be a little daunting, so I am putting Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett - B - in between the two Austen books.

message 21: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my author list, I have changed P from Plath, Sylvia to Palahniuk, Chuck - Choke.

message 22: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my title list, I am changing the B from Bridge of Sighs to Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. I am doing this because I never finished reading Bridge of Sighs.

message 23: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my book list, I am changing E from Emma to The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. I am doing this because I am having a frightful time getting through Northanger Abbey, and can't read another Jane Austen novel for a long time.

message 24: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) In my author list, I am changing the A from Jane Austen - Northanger Abbey to Aesopus - Aesop's Fables. I just couldn't even force myself to read one more word of Northanger Abbey.

message 25: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I just finished B in my author list. Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. I am now starting Atonement by Ian McEwen. Waiting for Godot was fantastic. The banter is hysterical. It is very well-written, and the characters are great. Five stars!!
