Books with a self sacrificing heroine

Hi there. I would like some suggestions. I prefer scifi or paranormal books but normal romance would be fine. I would like books that the heroine sacrifices herself for the hero. She could be sick or dying. A change of heart for the hero is always wonderful. Thanks for helping.
