ABANDONED. Fantasy Romance, Darkness Prince Villain and Mapmaker Protag

I read this book so long ago: it was a romance novel about a girl who was a mapmaker in a country with a Dark King, their country is cut off by some Darkness Abyss, and anyone who tries to cross the Abyss gets killed by some creatures. The king stumbles upon her while visiting his army and he takes her home to his palace. The main lead has a best friend guy who is in love with her and he has "bad feelings about the king". The book itself was kinda all over the place. The girl eventually falls in love with the Dark King and it turns out that she has some kind of Light Power that he needs. Just as the romance is blossoming between them though, she finds out that he's evil and she gets together with her best friend and they run away and cross the Dark Abyss at one point. Details are fuzzy. I read it in 2015.
