(view spoiler)[ We got to know the characters really well and I'm enjoying the alternating POVs. These men, though. Eek. They're problematic to say the least. I mean, a woman shows up on a stage beaten, and the Archbishop uses it as an opportunity to tell women to obey their husbands. Ugh. I think Lou and Reid are coming around to each other and I think they could get along really well without the big secret of her being a witch, which granted, is kind of a deal breaker. lol. I started the book a day ago, and I'm about 70 pages in. And so far I'm enjoying it, but I'm not going to lie I was kind of confused for the first bit, but I think I'm past that now.

I'm almost done it and I loved! I couldn't see a couple of the turns coming especially involving people's families.

I felt the same! I was confused at first, especially since I had the audiobook - there were so many characters and with the French thrown in here and there I had a hard time understanding what was going on. But it got a lot better when I switched to the kindle edition.
