Aiken County Public Library | 77 comments What book did you hate (or at least really dislike!)? Why?

Aiken County Public Library | 77 comments ACPL will have a display on the first floor with books that our staff members didn't care for. We're inviting patrons to try and change our minds. Below are some of the books that will be on display. Did you feel the same way?

A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
The Cat Who Killed Lilian Jackson Braun by Robert Kaplow
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Amanda | 25 comments I really didn't like Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. The main character is an IT person who falls in love with someone after spying on their emails. Stalking is not a good look!

Bea | 35 comments I have been tracking my reading on GR for 10 years and have read over 1700 books. In all that time, I have only had two books that I rated with 1 star (didn't like): The Third Policeman and The Arrival; and two that I did not finish: Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter and Murder at the Academy Awards: A Red Carpet Murder Mystery

There have been another 42 that only rated 2 stars (just OK) from me.

Wow, you are very well read! It's always disappointing to invest the time reading a book and then not even like it, but it sounds like you have been very fortunate to find so many that you DID like.

Wow, Gina, I was at a loss just reading the description of Swamplandia!

What has surprised me more is that the 42 that were just OK included a fair number of classics.

Regina Price (sunshine_in_sc) | 28 comments The bad thing about a bad book and me. I’m OCD enough that I can’t quit it. I still have to read the entire book. Now, I can read it faster...
