The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald

So July's classic is The Great Gatsby! This is the second Fitzgerald book we're reading for the book club and I'm really excited to get to it! I really enjoyed his lyrical writing in The Beautiful and Damned and I expect to also enjoy this one!
As it is a very popular classic, have you read it before?

I'd never read this before and sadly was unaware that the movie was based on a classic. The movie was less than impressive but after reading the book I can understand how this is a classic. The ending was poignant. I'm not sure if I should share more right now since there may be people who haven't finished it yet? It's really the ending that makes the whole book.
