Matt goes off the grid to provide protection for Briar. Why the need to keep the rest of his team in the dark?

He felt it necessary for her protection, but I was surprised at that especially since he was going to need their help sooner or later.

They had no idea who was behind the attempts on Blair's life, just that they were very highly placed, so it really made sense to tell no one, even the Team, what was going on.

I know Alex made that request but it still was a weak premise given that the team knew enough about their whereabouts to share that info if they hadn’t already been tracked. I didn’t get this one.

I think he just wanted to be extra vigilant about trying to keep her safe. But I agree that he was going to have involve his team at some point.
