I love these threads you start, Nik! :-)The best apps I love for my phone are:
1) GPS map system - wow this app has come in handy for traveling to different places within my state! I love to be able to google my destination and the map comes up giving the best route. I love to see the blue dot (my car) moving on the map! What a great invention! :-)
2) Weather - up to the minute weather conditions as it helps to know what is heading my way! lol If I am on the road in bad weather, my phone will send out an alarm if there is severe weather in my area.
3) Goodreads - yes, I have this app on my phone so I get on here throughout the day to see what new threads you have created, Nik! lol :-)
4) Email - I can access my email from anywhere if I am waiting on something in particular to come through, I can just jump on my phone and check my email.
5) Facebook - yes I have this app too on there along with the instant messaging, so I can see what interesting things are going on there.
I have other apps on my phone, but I don't really use them much as some of them seem to drain my battery life. I don't use the music app as I would rather listen to my music at home. I sometimes look at youtube, but not very often as I would rather do that at home too on my laptop (bigger screen) makes it easier to watch.
The only other thing I use my phone for is I use it as a camera and if I want to do videos. Oh yeah and I use the phone to actually call people! lol

Thanks -:)
A nice assortment there!

Distracting it is, no doubt and sometimes managing different distractions consumes a sizable chunk of the day.
Have one of those functional Nokias too, as a 2-nd cellphone for foreign sims, but pressing that "9" button 4 times to get to "z" feels kinda anachronistic. Adding one or mores languages into the mix - gets things even more complicated
I don't use my phone much, reserve it for emergency family use. I do have the weather app, though. I use my laptop for everything else.
All those efforts to develop zillions of apps are wasted for nothing?! Don't you at least play chess or cards online? -:)

Which ones do you especially like?
