ROCK
PAPER
These books will NOT work:Saga, Volume 1 (under 250 pages)
(black and white, but not in newspaper style)
OPTION 2 - "SCIENCE" on main page (304 pg)Don't Sleep, There are Snakes: Life and Language in the Amazonian Jungle
or - "Science fiction" on main page (256 pg)

Ha, ha, ha. Now I have one less option to decide among for Task 20.2. Instead here is a task just for Big Bang Theory! Great! One of my favorite shows.

That's option 2, not 3, but both will work :)
Option 2 for me, please.
The Descent of Woman: The Classic Study of Evolution by Elaine Morgan Science genre on main page.
Pat wrote: "Option 2 for me, please.
The Descent of Woman: The Classic Study of Evolution by Elaine Morgan ..."That works :)
I just want to say thanks for option 4, a great place to put:
Stone Mattress: Nine Tales by Margaret Atwood!
Karen Michele wrote: "I just want to say thanks for option 4, a great place to put:

Dee wrote: "Maybe I'll move The Martian here - great recommendation for funny sci-fi"That one actually looks really good. *adds to tbr*
And yes, it works for option 2 :)

i'm listening to the audiobook and was laughing so hard last night at some of the commentary, i about had an accident...
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Can I read Phoenix Island for option 2?"Yes, that works for science fiction and meets the page requirement :)
My usual graphic novel collections are shy of the page goal...so I think it's time to hit the long standing #1 of my tbr pile with Watchmen.Aka THANK YOU for finally prompting me to knock it off the list! Fun task!

Excellent choice Morgan, and of course, it works :) I hope you love it as much as I did!
rachieg wrote: "Does Saga, Volume 1 work for Option 2 or 3?"Unfortunately, I don't see an edition of that one with more than 250 pages, so it won't work.
Deana wrote: "rachieg wrote: "Does Saga, Volume 1 work for Option 2 or 3?"Unfortunately, I don't see an edition of that one with more than 250 pages, so it won't work."
Oh! I totally missed the 250 page requirement. Thank you!
Sue T wrote: "Can I please getThe List approved as Science Fiction?Great task, BTW."
You got it, and thanks!
Awesome task, just wish the gals were included too....Penny, Bernadette, and Amy. And Amy Farah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) has written her own book: Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way. (She wrote a cookbook too, but that probably has too many pictures to count.)
Thanks Peebee! Yes, I left out the girls for this one - it's a large cast and I didn't want the task to get too long and complicated by including everyone! Next time I (or you!) get to make a task, maybe it can be related to the female half of the crew :)
jingles wrote: "Deana, will this book work for Option 4 (newspaper)?
"I'm going to have to say no on this one.
To me, although the cover is black and white, it doesn't really look like a newspaper article (the way the cover of 11/22/63 does). And I also don't see a newspaper in any of the small images there.
Navarra wrote: "Option 2 - Science Rules
audiobook?"Looks good - has Science Fiction and meets the page requirements.
Can I get
approved as science fiction. I'm worried "science fiction fantasy" will fall off the page.

Angela wrote: "Habibi Will this work for option 3 (graphic novel option)?"Looks good - has the correct genre and meets the page requirement... and no mention of children on the genres either!
I really enjoyed that one, I hope you do as well! Touches on a lot of difficult subjects.
Hina wrote: "For Option 1, does this work...Sarah's Child by Linda Howard."
Howard is one of the allowed names. I think it meets the page number requirements... filtering by "mass market paperback" on the other editions gives the first in the list at exactly 250 pages. So by my understanding it's good, but you may want to doublecheck the rules with a mod to be sure.

Thanks I will check with them. Originally I read a another book that was 366 pages, but forgot about the there are no hard copy of the book. So this is the only one I came up with.
Sure, it looks like she is sitting on a rock to me :)Patricia wrote: "

Would this work for Option 4 - rock on cover?"

Great. Thanks!
Hi Deana, would Boxers work for option 3? (No children's/kid's on main page genres; over 250 pages.)
mstan wrote: "Hi Deana, would Boxers work for option 3? (No children's/kid's on main page genres; over 250 pages.)"Looks good to me! Boxers and Saints were both really interesting stories, if you read the one you've got to read the other :)

I don't watch much television (who has time with so many books to read?!) but I do keep up with The Big Bang Theory, which has recently been renewed and will start its 8th season during this season of SRC!
Please choose ONE of the following options:
REQUIRED: State which option you chose.
OPTION 1. Meet the boys.
The show follows four "nerdy" guys as they make their way awkwardly through life and love: Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Rajesh.
Read a book by an author who has one of these four names as their first or last name. Names must match exactly, no variations or hyphens.
OPTION 2. SCIENCE RULES!
The guys are all college professors with degrees in physics, astronomy or engineering. They also love science fiction shows such as Star Trek, Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica. Read any book with the genre "Science" or "Science Fiction" genre on the main page. The genres can be stand-alone or embedded.
OPTION 3. Not just for kids.
Their friend Stuart runs the comic book store where they often while away the hours. They even got the girls interested in comics in one episode :) Read a graphic novel, comic collection or manga.
OPTION 4. Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock
This variation of the common game "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is used by these guys because it lowers the chance of ending in a tie from 1:3 to 1:5. Your book's cover should show one of the following:
An individual rock or stone, a newspaper, a pair of scissors, a lizard, or the Star Trek character "Spock".
REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post and state the item.
REQUIRED FOR ALL OPTIONS: Your book must be at least 250 pages ... these guys are super smart and would scoff at a shorter book!
Note: Books with genres “Graphic Novel,” “Sequential Art,” “Comics,” and “Manga” that conform to all other SRC rules may be used for this task.
Books with the main page genre childrens or kids may not be used for this task.
