Nathan Jensen | 1 comments I was reading this book about a year ago, and I finished around the first two chapters but then got distracted. The book was young adult or teen. It took place in older times, like in the 1800's or something. The main character is a servant to a rich guy who rides out at night secretly under an alias that had Jack in the name. The master would steal from rich people, save girls, act like an all around Robin Hood type character. He has a lot of enemies, and gets injured on his way home one night. The boy has to dress as the "Jack" character and ride away. The boy ends up accidentally taking up the mantle of the master, and gains his enemies, rides his black horse, and has to deal with a girl his master saved. Any help is appreciated.

Jamie Dacyczyn (readsintrees) | 297 comments Possibly Jackaroo by Cynthia Voigt, or one of the other books in that series (there are 4 that are related, and each mentioned Jackaroo at different times).

Rouan | 139 comments I agree with Jamie that it sounds like one of the Jackaroo books.

Nathan, please put plot details into your header. It doesn't have to contain every single plot detail. For example, it could read:

"Possibly set in 1800s. Protagonist is servant to rich guy who rides out at night secretly under an alias that had Jack in the name."
