Alexa has a perfect complexion. Smooth and acne free. Her hair seems to also stay in place and when wet it becomes charmingly curly. It's a honey caramel color that matches her amber eyes perfectly. She's a good height at 5'8 and weighs 120 pounds. She has always been described as beautiful and pure, and truly, that's what she is.



Personality: Pure and honest, Alexa is someone anyone would want to be friends with. She's different, speaking up but becoming quiet easily. She isn't afraid to speak up however and is easily admirable. She's loyal although if you go against her, there's nada to your relationship. She expects good qualities in her friends and personally hates the girls in the Selection that just want the title, fame, and power. Not the Prince.

She's also a wonderful dancer and gymnast and is a fast learner. She plays the trombone in her spare time.

History: Alexa was born to a wealthy and well known family. She had an older brother that was older by a single year, and they were pretty close although they still had their fights and rivalries and such. A Three, until she was 8 she never knew what poverty felt like. She had always had friends, money, and it seemed like almost everything at her finger tips, but she never overdid anything. She wasn't spoiled, although she could have been. When she was 8, her father took her and her brother with him on a business trip to New Asia- to a poorer country. He wanted her to be appreciative of what she had and to see how many less fortunate people lived. Of course, the image of those people coming up to them and begging for food and money never left her mind for some time. She had been a bit upset that she had to give up all of her pocket money to these people, but understood why. Now, fast forward to when she was 10. She wanted to be in band in Grade Six but her parents wanted her to focus on other more important stuff, like her education. But after a lot of convincing, she got permission to join band. She plays the trombone- she named hers Griffin. But she was criticized by a few Twos for her choice of an instrument. In their minds, playing a Trombone was considered more 'Manly' but she didn't care. And by age 12, she was an excellent player and well known herself. Now, to her Thirteenth birthday. She asked for a puppy. She wanted a Shiba Inu. A black one to be exact. And she got one. It was her reward for being such a good daughter and she named her dog Luna. This was how she earned her love of animals. So she decided to become a veterinarian. Everyone in her family was pleased with a choice of a well paying and respectable profession. But on her Seventeenth birthday, she decided she wanted to enter the Selection. It was a good choice, because she was Selected. Later, she found out that her brother had applied to become a guard at the palace, and was accepted and started on the day she arrived at the palace.

Orange, brown, blonde? Just can't decide on a hair color. Currently it is the shade that is shown in the picture below, but that could change any day. Also, for a while she had a pixie haircut that she is considering getting cut back to that. But, for now it is the length of her shoulders and frames her face nicely. Anyway, she has rather pale skin all the time. Some people thinks it is because she uses Mother's powder to much, but it is really just natural. She is rather short, at 5'4. Winter is beautiful, after all they only except people of her beauty into the Selection. They want only the prettiest girls running around the palace, right? Besides that, all the time she is in fitted jeans and a white tucked blouse with fancy boots and belt. It was just the new fashion where she lived and of course, Winter wants to look better than anyone else. Quite honestly, and usually she does.

It was just another cloudless sunny day in July. The forecast for that day was rainstorms but the weathermen were wrong, as usual. I guess nothing was predicted right that day. Winter's mother was pregnant, again, and the baby wasn't due for another 7 weeks. But, that night little Winter was born. She was a fat baby with pudgy little legs despite how early she was. Actually, her mother was upset about her being born so unexpectedly. Don't ask, I don't know why. Mother, as Winter called her, always seemed disappointed in her. Even thought he was prettier, smarter, more obediant than her siblings, her parents always considered her as worthless. Well, not her Father but it was visible that her Mother just didn't see the goodness in her. Not many people do, actually.
As Winter grew up into her early teens, her eldest sibling, Autumn, got married to a 7. Autumn was shunned after that. I guess that her sister did find true love and went to desperate measures to be happy. A sick feeling stirred inside Winter because she was now happy that her sister was the one being shunned upon. You know whenever you were upset with yourself for feeling a curtain way? Winter felt that constantly. But that past over in a month or 2.
Sixteen. Signing up for the Selection was a huge thing for her. Just in time to. Being Selected was her ticket away from that family. That trading, shunning, unreasonable family. But Father was rather a grand person. Maybe, that was because he was never home. Usually, Father was out late at work. He worked as doctor in one of the best hospitals around. Lots of income was made, enough to have some nice luxurious and always have a full stomach, but it never made up for the lack of a real relationship with her father.

If you're standers of kind are low then Winter could be considered kind. Most of the time she tries to be pitch perfect for the hope of having Mother like her better. It never works. But truthfully Winter isn't a nice person. She is a fake. A coward actually if you really want to know. Runs from her problems and defiantly procrastiants. Even though does do those things she isn't a minimalest. Most of her school work, they have a private tutor who comes for only 2 hours 4 days a week, is done right and on time. Not to mention, Winter has a real thing for being smart. If she fails something, she'll go nuts & cry & complain. Gladly, that happens rarely, for she usually does things exactly the way it should be done. And yes, Winter is a pompous little brat. Growing up in a nice house and having a nice meal each night with a few nice things on the side, that not anyone below a 3 could have. Being in the high castes got to her head. She thought, and still does think, that she was better than anyone below her. It wasn't unusual for her to utterly shun 5's, 6's, 7's, and especially 8's. Usually, Winter let the 4''s slide, one of her best friends was in the caste below her so 4's were good people in her mind. Fives were disgusting little wanna-be-high-caste, at least in Winter's book. Sixes were just you know out of her realms of approval. Sevens were i-am-not-in-the-lowest-caste-in-your-face-8. Then the 8's. Just no. Anyway, I think you can get the picture of Winter. Everyone knows she is perfect. But they're wrong. She is faking. Just like she will be during the Selection.

India is stubborn, although she is still well mannered and mature being in the high class of Three. She is natural in social situations, though she prefers serious, real talk (i.g. real world probs) than idle chit chat.

Her flaws include pride and stubbornness and the need to always prove her point. She can be hot-tempered sometimes and may lash out angrily when she’s stressed. She doesn’t like to be wrong and tends to be a perfectionist.

Initially, Emery entered the selection with her own ulterior motives. However that's not to say she's not one to be turned around. It just might take a little persuading.

Personality:
Due to her past, Emery is quite a bitter young woman with a lot of pent up anger that she simply refuses to let go of.

Cynical and sharp tongued with an even sharper mind. Emery is extremely intelligent, and with this her sarcastic sense of humour thrives upon her bountiful amount of pointless knowlege. With a mouth that engages before her mind can fully comprehend what she's saying, her words can often lead her into trouble that she could probably do without.

Along with this, Emery can be volatile at the best of times. She's always up for trying something new, and the word no doesn't sit well with her. In fact, it isn't in her vocabulary. Despite her smarts she tends to be quite impulsive, and does stuff before truly thinking it through, again, this can often lead to trouble.

Emery is quite blunt and straightforward and sees no point in beating around the bush. At times she can come across as cold and unaware of anybody else's emotions, what with having a lack of sugarcoating things, per say. She'll happily say it as it is, and is in no way afraid to speak her mind to others, which, you could say has lead to her current status of being friendless, aside from the companionship of a few people from her caste than can see past her somewhat rude nature to the girl underneath. Em seems to almost lack a filter on her words, and you could never find her stabbing you in the back, since she would probably initially say it to your face anyway.

She portrays herself as something of an open book, when really, there are so many hidden layers under a rather emotionless exterior.

Talents:
Illusionist-Em is quite the illusionist. Being out on the streets most of the time, its quite a useful skill to have and comes in handy quite a lot. She can make you see things that maybe aren't really there, and essentially its a good talent to have.
Pick pocketer-Being a girl living in caste 8, there's some things that you have to do to keep yourself alive, pick pocketing being one of them. And she's one of the best pick pocketers in the caste.
Animal whisperer-Emery has a softer side when it comes to animals, one that most people aren't on the receiving end of, and a side that the majority of people don't get to see. During her time in caste 8, she befriended a stray dog and soon after the pair were insepersble. Despite the lack of food in 8, she's always willing to give up hers to potentially save an animal_ and always does what she can to help her sick and injured 4 legged companions, and they seem to return the love.

History:
Born and raised in a caste five area, Emery's life has never really been one full of the luxeries that money can bring. The second child of parents that were lacking passion in their marriage, it was hoped that Em would bring them both together and mend the rift that had grown between the couple, alas, it was to no avail. For a couple of years it worked, with a baby to occupy themselves with her parents needn't think about their loveless partnership, however eventually the past caught up with them. The rows started, and along with that came a violence that Emery would much rather forget. Of was then that Emery lodt all faith in such a thing as love. It was simply a tale for dreamers.

It was when her mother left that everything changed, and certainly not for the better.

She was on the cusp of twelve when it happened, and things went downhill from there. Her father turned to drink, and her older brother rarely returned home most nights. She was utterly alone. And that was when the young girl began to grow bitter. With bitterness came a rigid anger pitted deep in her stomach, one that is still there to this day. Then her father began to realise that he actually had a daughter,and the interest that sparked was not a good one.

The man became abusive, rage driven by abandonment from a woman of whom he didn't even love.

On her 16th birthday, she'd had enough. Em ran and she never looked back.

That's how she ended up in caste 8 driven by fear that her father would find her, she ended up amongst the misfits, the criminals and anybody else that wasn't quite up to societies standards. The surprising part? She liked it there.
