Explain the birthday temptation.

The thing in the "temptation" when everyone turns 15 is obviously meant to be the gaiaphage, because when Sam and Caine resist it on their birthday, it starts ranting at Caine that he will come to it in the darkness.

But... what. This makes no sense. The gaiaphage doesn't TAKE anyone when they hit 15. It doesn't suck their power or use them. They get OUT, where it has no influence. The twins got out fine. The people after like Mary and Francis got out, they didn't go to the 'phage. (I assume they came out weird and mutated because they spent longer time in and... I don't know, I don't really get that part either, why did they then die at the same time??)

It feels like he meant to do something different with the 15-year temptation and just... forgot. XD

Like he forgot about Cookie (end of one book is fine, never mentioned again), and he forgot to explain how Edilio liked Lana when he's gay, and he forgot Astrid's house burned down for like the entirety of book 2 (how did Petey have those nesting dolls from his childhood if it burned huhhh?), and he forgot that Gaia wasn't even born when Albert fled, so when Quinn came and got him and said Sam was out looking for Gaia he should've said "Whoooo?"

I do really really love these books, but lawdy I wish I'd been the one editing them.

Please someone explain the temptation thing.

AND WHAT'S GOING ON WITH SANJIT AND LANA.

I haven't read "Monster" or "Villain" yet so I'm really hoping they pop up in there because they're all I care about. >:c

Okay just started reading "Monster," and right away he's talking about the fatalities of adults transported outside the dome. Some hit by cars, some drowned, some teleported inside objects...

Except he forgot, he already SPECIFICALLY said that no adults died when it went up, zero, not one. There was a fatality when an adult appeared in a highway and a guy swerved to avoid him and died? But no Perdido adults died.

Now there's tons. XD

maybe the gaiaphage does try to use them but when the twins turned 15 it was too weak so it let them go. and later when mary and francis (etc) "take the poof" it uses them as much as it can and what is left after is the result of it messing with them. maybe it wanted to learn about this world from them, it is mentioned that even when it is the physical body of a teen it has the mind of a newborn and needs to learn about the world.

Also another thing that is never mentioned again is the fact astrid is a 3 bar but still has no idea what her powers are (it is mentioned once when her and sam are in the church spire)
And how did the gaiaphage create nezera but cant make its own human form, nezera couldve just given it her boddy. (sory for the rant)
