OMG! This section stepped it up a couple notches!!!! *shudder*
It’s safe to say I’m hooked. I will likely be finishing this tonight or for sure tomorrow. I need the answers!!!
Someone is in that cave with G! M’s Mom? M?
Who or what took control of her arm smashing the battery?! I sure hope we get answers!!!!

Just finished Chapter 22! Woaaaah!!!! This book is seriously so damn good! I'm SO creeped out! Also wondering who's in the cave with her!? I have a feeling we're in for an insane twist! Something crazy is about to happen!! And ewwww ... the part with Jennie and the suit, so brutal!

I was hoping to understand more about the tunnelers, but No!
Yeah, those descriptions were descriptive and shudder inducing!
Going two days with no communication was brutal!

I just finished section 2 myself and I'm so crazy about this book! I am so super creeped out! The stuff with being underwater gets me. I am really bothered by anything to do with underwater. *shiver*

I am wondering at this point if the dead are still hanging around the cave? Is it ghosts? I'm sitting here wondering what is going on. Is she just hallucinating from too much time underground alone? Is it the spores causing hallucinations? Or is it something else? At this point I'm beginning to think the cave really IS cursed and that's what's been going on. I've been sitting here reading like "Okay so.....ghosts?" Haha.

I just can't imagine that Isolde could still be alive down there. And even if she was, it doesn't explain Gyre seeing the OTHER dead people, or the strange humming she's hearing, or any of that.

I have no idea what is happening but yes the level of action went WAY up this section!

Checkpoint 2 questions are coming early this month because I have already finished the book, and I see no reason to hold them back! Enjoy! :)

1 Is Isolde (or anyone) alive in the cave with Gyre? Why do you think this is so (or not so)?

2 Is Gyre hallucinating the things she is seeing? Are there ghosts in the cave? Something else? (What else?)

3 Revisiting the question of whether or not Em can be trusted: at this point do you believe she has Gyre’s best interest at heart? Do you feel that she is trustworthy now? Why or why not?

4 The situation with Gyre’s suit spasming and smashing the back-up battery was not only bizarre, but also terrifying. What do you think is happening there? Was there someone on the “empty” channel? Who do you think they are and what are their motivations?

5 Gyre came so far in the cave only to NOT reach her final destination. I, personally, expected her to make it. What do you think is at the very end of the long journey through the cave? Will we ever find out?

I'm feeling far behind, but catching up! Such a great creepy read with the mysterious open channel and loss of control, the spores with unknown consequences, more examples of An not being 100% up front in order to protect Gyre! Definitely finishing this book soon!

Deborah you are not behind! Don't worry! I think a lot of us just read this one super fast. But it is only the middle of the month, you are doing great. haha I found the spores really creepy as well.
