kirstin ✿ Most people in The Maze Runner message board on IMDB―and when I say ‵most′ I mean 99% of those who have seen this already―were satisfied with the movie! Reviews are positive, both from fans and non-fans of the novel. The changes they made in the film are for the better, in my opinion. I liked the book a ton but let's be real, the movie would have been boring if they followed the source material the exact way it's written; the book lacked action. We didn't even see Minho and Thomas run in the maze while the walls were moving. I also noticed how the Map Room isn't at all like the one described in the books, but I have no issues with that.

To be honest, I don't really mind changes when a book is being adapted into a movie. It would just ruin the movie for me. A movie I would like to enjoy for what it is, and not for what it's from. Also, another major change: (view spoiler)

I really, really wanna support the movie but I'm a bit afraid that faithful fans of the book would get mad when they find out that the movie is slightly different than the book. I hope readers enter the theater with an open-mind and thoroughly enjoy it ^^

And if you're not convinced that early movie-goers liked the film, see for yourself. IMDB message board here. Just ignore the trolls who judge the movie without having even seen it just because it's YA.

Let's support the film ;) I really want to see a sequel just so I can see more Minho. ♥

Kelly Brigid ♡ Aww, they're not having the telepathy? I don't really like Teresa at all, but her and Thomas' telepathic abilities were the one cool thing about them! Oh well, as long as they make Minho and Newt as awesome as they are in the books, I will be happy.

I can't wait until they start filming The Scorch Trials! ^^ I think they already cast characters; I wanna see who plays Brenda!

kirstin ✿ Yes, and I'm pretty sure fans of Thomas and Teresa would flip when they find that out. Book-to-movie adaptations have always been risky, you know, it's either a make or break. I hope this one's the former!

I haven't read Scorch Trials yet so I don't know who Brenda is, but I'll go read it soon ^^

Jeff Briel I'm curious cause in the trailer, Thomas I think is inside a water tank.. And Theresa said Thomas' name out loud, in the book she couldn't speak until 3 months? But, I'm okay with it and I think the movie won't be shit.

kirstin ✿ I've already read reviews, and I swear, they changed a lot. It's obvious already, though, because almost everything in the trailer isn't in the book. When Teresa wakes up in the elevator and calls Thomas. When she's the one who says "They're gonna kill us all" instead of Gally. The Homestead and Map Room aren't like what they were described in the book, that door Minho and Tom find, and a loooot more. But despite that, I'm still very excited about the movie. I'll momentarily forget about the novel when I watch the movie. The reviews make me anticipate it so much.

Emma If you didn't already know they don't have telepathy then I'm sorry but you're really not up to date. This is old news.

The trailers are all fantastic. Remember the movies have to change stuff. I am so excited for this damn movie, I've been waiting for 3 years (since I read the book) and in 13 days, I'm going to be finally, finally watching it. I guess I'll let you guys know what I think then.

Although, I have to agree with Teresa saying that instead of Gally. He was my favourite character, and I really want him to be the same as he is in the book. Will Poulter is fricken awesome though. He's so funny :p

kirstin ✿ I just finished reading TMR two days ago, so I'm new to the fandom, so yes ... I'm probably kinda outdated ;_;

I like Will Poulter, omg! I watched their interviews and all and seems like he's very natural in front of the cameras. I wouldn't say I like Gally, but I definitely don't hate him either.

Emma I'm glad you liked the book :) I'm actually jealous. I read this book about 3 years ago and I've read it another 2 times since, but I wish I could just discover it all again. I love this book so much, the memory of reading it for the first time and falling crazy in love with it is forever stuck in my head :p

You can imagine the agony of waiting for this damn movie... (3 years is a long and painful time)

kirstin ✿ The book's mystery just kept pulling me in! Not a huge fan of Thomas, though, but I looked past it because the plot really got the better of me. And also, Minho < 3333

And believe me, I can imagine! I hope the film is a success!

Emma yeah, not a lot of people really liked Thomas in the book. I always did, but he was nothing compared to characters like newt and minho.

Kelly Brigid ♡ Emma wrote: "yeah, not a lot of people really liked Thomas in the book. I always did, but he was nothing compared to characters like newt and minho."

I agree. Thomas was a pretty cool character, I don't see why everyone says he's "wimpy and cowardly" O_o He's definitely not as cool as Minho and Newt though ^.^

3 years! ;c I feel bad for you; I've been going crazy waiting for this movie and I read the book last year!

Yeah, its been a long wait. Most likely why my mum understands that I have to take the day off school to see this movie. Sometimes, these things have to be done :p

Emma I'll let you guys know how it is without giving any spoilers (if I can)

kirstin ✿ Yay, thanks!

Kelly Brigid ♡ I AM SO JEALOUS! XD

Kelly Brigid ♡ I could've seen the Maze Runner like a month ago at San Diego Comic Con (cause it's only like an hour and a half drive!) but I didn't know they'd actually screen it there, so I didn't go! >_>

kirstin ✿ Awww, what a missed opportunity!

Kelly Brigid ♡ I was so crushed when I found out! D;

message 24: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Why so early in Mexico?

Kelly Brigid ♡ I wanna cross the border just so I can see it a week early! XD

Rachel Paige Hamlin Saw an interview in which the author (whose name I can't remember) said the glade was exactly as he imagined it, and that he was watching the book come to life.
I think if the author approves, how bad can it be?

Kelly Brigid ♡ *James Dashner ;)

Have any of you seen the close up of the griever in the TV trailers? They look awesome!

kirstin ✿ ♪~Kelly~♪ wrote: "*James Dashner ;)

Where did you see it? Are there new clips from the movie?

Yes ;) And he was always there when they're filming the movie. I'm so happy for him ^^ His book being turned into a movie and all. I just really hope it succeeds. Right now I'm just really happy for James Dashner.

Majo Yesterday I bought tickets for TMR movie, releasing TODAY! in Mexico. So excited

It's from one of the TV trailers, go to 23 seconds into the video then pause ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeB0a...

Vincent Dohn I've seen the movie already. some changes were acceptable except, they omitted one variable. i still don't know how will they adjust the sequel without that variable. it's just me maybe. :). 7/10 though.

Vincent Dohn variable omitted- telepathy

Majo Saw the movie, not exactly as the book but it's an adaptation, some of the changes were acceptable, and the changes were well done. But I think it's a good adaptation. almost perfect.

message 36: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma 10/10.

Seriously. It was fucking shucktastic.

There were changes, yes, but they were all soooooo goood! The movie was AMAZING you can expect big things...

Wow, you're lucky. Here in the Philippines, we have to wait until Sept. 17 (5 more days to go!). Hope the movie doesn't disappoint! Cross-fingers. :)

Kelly Brigid ♡ I have to wait for 1 more week. I'm so jelly of all you guys who got to see it early! XD

message 39: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Well it's only that one time that it was on last night. I have to wait another week before it officially releases in cinemas and I can see it again

It’s.Annie I haven't seen it

kirstin ✿ Can't wait for it! Ugh, seriously. I just want the movie now.

Emma, did a lot of people watch?

kirstin ✿ Vincent ~ I've heard about that change and it's explained why Ball removed it! I think he's gonna explore it in the sequel ^^

message 43: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma It was a full house!!

I did not expect so many people. I didn't think many people knew about it. We're talking Australian people here and I just didn't expect so many of them :o

But then again, I also suspect that some of the people who went just went to see the movie and haven't read the book. I even recognised these two girls from my school and I was definitely NOT expecting that. And so many people arriving late! Like 10 minutes into the movie!! I was going crazy.

Emma Okay I'll stop.

Kelly Brigid ♡ Too late, I already died.

message 47: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Don't die before the movie :(

kirstin ✿ That's a great news, Emma! Were the majority of people girls? Or boys? How about adults?

message 50: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Um, I don't really know. I'd say the majority of them were girls, and young. But there were plenty of boys and quite a few adults. I even sat next to a guy who was about late 20's. There was a range :P
