SOLVED. Science Fiction book about time compression with multiple characters across multiple times. Spoilers ahead.

Part of the book is in or around the present, part of the book takes place in at the end of time. Most of the charachters in the present can dimension hop, but I don't think all of them can. The charachters at the end of time are just trying to survive time collapsing. As time collapses, reality starts to fade. eventually all the time becomes only a single point. Then all the charachters manage to meet and stop....someone? I don't remember. But they manage to reset time and it all begins again.

There is also a lot of talk about books. As time compresses, the information in the books becomes unreliable and part of the investigation involves reading a lot of books to see how far the destruction has progressed, though not all the charachters know this.

I read it a few years ago. It was bizarre in a good way. I would like to reread just to try to wrap my head around it.
