Jenny received Chris Wolak and Emily Fine (known as The Book Cougars) at the Reading Envy Pub for mint juleps and a discussion of Gone with the Wind, a book many of us have been reading along in May and June.

Jeff Koeppen (jeff_koeppen) | 181 comments Fun conversation! I also was taken aback when I read Scarlett's "great balls of fire." I thought Jerry Lee Lewis came up with that phrase.

According to Google: 'Great balls of fire' originated as an expression in the southern states of the USA, around 1850. It derives from the many biblical references to the presence of God being indicated by a fire.

I'm now fascinated with Margaret Mitchell. I'll look in to the biographical video you mentioned.

I need to try it again as when I really wanted to watch it, it kept stopping and spinning, grr.

Shatterlings | 47 comments I enjoyed it too, I didn’t see Melanie the same way as the discussion seemed to, it seemed to me she saw the best in everyone like Rhett and the wife murdering man even when no body else did. She would never see or believe the worst about Scarlett and Ashley when she loved them both so much.
