ABANDONED. Man is depressed and not successful as brothers so he decides to commit suicide, before he does he lives one year of speaking possitive affirmation he becomes happy and successful

Good day everyone,

I have been reading a host of business books over the past year and I cant remember the book name, there was a story in it that I broadly rememeber.

The book had a story in it about a man who hadn't amounted to much success mean while his brothers were very successful doctors. I beleive the man went to the Amazon rainforest to explore but didnt find what he was looking for. Eventually he decides to commit suicide, but before he does, he says he will live one more year with strong positive affirmations, and believing he is worth something great (fake it till you make it). After the year he became a very successful and happy man who if I rememeber correctly worked in a University as a professor teaching the technique of truly believing in one's self.

If any one knows the story or the book in which the story is in, it would be greatly appreciated!
