message 11: by Becca (new)

Becca (becka_anne) A Paris Apartment by Michelle Gable

I felt the same way. So much want to see it now.

message 13: by Allison (new)

Allison Blankets by Craig Thompson
Rated 4/5
I've never considered reading a graphic novel before but I was pleasantly surprised how meaty the storyline was and it certainly covered a lot of ground. Like many misunderstood youth, Craig is smart and talented, and maybe a little messed up but I'd like to think that despite everything he will turn out just fine.

message 14: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

5/5
Excellent return of Dan Torrance - not exactly scary but darkly creepy!

Lauren Stoolfire Hollow City (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs
5/5 Not to be missed for fans of the first installment - I loved this fast-paced thrill ride with a much wider look at Peculiardom!

Noggin by John Corey Whaley
4/5 Brilliant and thought-provoking look at life after loss.

4/5 stars. It was a good book but lost its grip at some points.

Ghost House by Alexandra Adornetto

4/5 stars. A good mystery book.

Leaving London by Garry Crystal

5/5 stars. Loved it. For all John Green's fans

message 23: by Becca (last edited Oct 09, 2014 10:12AM) (new)

Becca (becka_anne) Jumping mouse by Brian Patten

1/5 - I read it for work but am totally counting it. Not a great story and pretty dull. The ending was confusing.

The Dark by Lemony Snicket

5/5 - I really enjoyed this story. I like the message it sends :)

message 24: by Jesica (last edited Oct 09, 2014 03:22PM) (new)

Jesica | 39 comments The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass
5/5-I really enjoyed this story and it keep me going, there was hardly any boring parts.

message 25: by Heather (new)

Heather 4/5* Girl with Guitar (Kylie Ryans, #1) by Caisey Quinn sweet story about a wannabe country singer.

4/5* Touching Scars by Stacy Borel really liked this! Both MCs have HUGE issues to overcome.

5/5* More Than Words A Novella by Lilly Avalon LOVE! A erotica novelist who doesn't know how to be sexy herself.

1/5* Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole I HATED THIS! I thought it sounded so good too. A girl predicts the end of the world. Ugh, it was terrible.

message 26: by Allison (new)

Allison A Separate Peace by John Knowles
3/5 For me this book was just ehhh, I didn't love it or hate it. I can certainly appreciate it's descriptive narrative however at points it was a bit much. I also found it unrelatable. Who knew a group of young men could read so much into things? Maybe their response to the events was caused by the impending reality of war that loomed over them but I found it to be overly dramatic.

message 27: by Heather (new)

Heather 5/5* Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover I didn't think I would like a book about slamming but I loved this! I'd heard, because this was CHs first book it wasn't as well written but I had no issues. But things like that don't bother me as much as it does other people.

message 28: by Becca (new)

Becca (becka_anne) Eight Keys by Suzanne LaFleur

4/5 - A nice, enjoyable read about a young girl discovering her past.

message 29: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire The Iron Trial (Magisterium, #1) by Cassandra Clare

2/5 - Far too similar to Harry Potter for me to get invested in the story.

Becca (becka_anne) Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie

Lauren Stoolfire Sword of the Rightful King by Jane Yolen

4/5 - Good reworking of Arthurian legend, but the ending was far too rushed.

message 33: by Heather (new)

Heather 5/5* On the Island (On the Island, #1) by Tracey Garvis-Graves Wow! I'm so happy to have read this book! I didn't know what to expect going in. It's about 30 yr old teacher, Anna and 16yr old TJ are on a seaplane to catch up with his parents when the plane crashes. They're stuck on an island alone for 4 years.

message 34: by Allison (new)

Allison A Wedding in December by Anita Shreve 3/5 Although there wasn't any huge events that occurred I loved the storyline behind this book: a group of college friend reuniting after 27 years. Funny how the people you knew best at one time in your life come to be total strangers that you know so little about.

message 35: by Heather (new)

Heather 4/5* Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover At first I didn't think I would like it because the MC's both annoyed me. After awhile they grew on me and I fell in love with it. The soundtrack and Maggie's Epilogue were perfect additions.

message 36: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire Smoke by Ellen Hopkins
5/5 - I highly recommend this gritty novel that doesn't shy away from difficult topics.
Full Goodreads Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 37: by Heather (new)

Heather 4/5* The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred I had heard nothing but wonderful things about this book. It starts when Alix and Nick are very young and goes until they're close to 40. It's a very emotional read. Lots of things happen to them both but it's a great book.

message 38: by Lauren (last edited Oct 22, 2014 07:35PM) (new)

Lauren Stoolfire Enchanted (Woodcutter Sisters #1) by Alethea Kontis
4/5 - Delightfully twisty fairy tale retelling primarily featuring The Frog Prince and Cinderella. For fans of A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz and tv's Once Upon A Time.

message 39: by Heather (last edited Oct 26, 2014 05:21AM) (new)

Heather 3/5* Under the Orange Moon (Mathews Family, #1) by Adrienne Frances Nothing too special here. Normal bad boy loves innocent girl. He becomes good.

message 40: by Lauren (last edited Oct 22, 2014 08:46PM) (new)

Lauren Stoolfire The Sham by Ellen Allen

3/5 - Dark mystery thriller focusing on Emily and Jack, Emily's very sick boyfriend. By the way, he's in hiding and a murder suspect.

message 41: by Heather (new)

Heather 4/5* The Genius and the Muse by Elizabeth Hunter a group of best friends look back at the past. It reminds me of the movie The Big Chill

5/5* What Kills Me (What Kills Me, #1) by Wynne Channing this was very good. A new look at vampires.

5/5* Shadowlands (Shadowlands, #1) by Kate Brian I can't describe how amazing this book is without giving things away. It's not like ANY other book I've read before!

message 42: by Lauren (last edited Oct 29, 2014 02:28PM) (new)

Lauren Stoolfire The Eye of Minds by James Dashner

5/5 - Fantastic cyberpunk with a great twist for fans of The Matrix, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and Rick Riordan.
Full Goodreads review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Bloom and Doom (Bridal Bouquet Shop Mystery #1) by Beverly Allen

3/5 - Fun cozy mystery with a clever and likeable leading lady.
Full Goodreads review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The Shadows (The Books of Elsewhere, #1) by Jacqueline West

5/5 - Incredibly imaginative and just the right amount of eeriness for fans of Roald Dahl and Neil Gaiman.
Full Goodreads review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 43: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire Lockdown (Escape From Furnace, #1) by Alexander Gordon Smith

5/5 - Excellent horror thriller - fast-paced, engrossing, and intense.

Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows

2/5 - Too heavy on the romance and two few answers in this sci-fi/fantasy novel.
