SOLVED. Set in 1800's family who are Mormons, 3 wives, on adopted native american son who falls in love with his adopted sister. [s]

book starts out in England I think, young woman meets a young Mormon man, gets fired because her employer forbids religion, they marry, move to America, travel west, start a family, native americans give them food and leave their young son with the Mormon family. they adopt, name him tom, they all settle in a new town, husband is forced to take a second wife with several children, then a third younger wife. first wife is jealous of the younger one, the husbands name is Burns.
I hope this is enough detail, its pretty much all I can remember.
