Apollo falls from grace into a dumpster and discovers he has lost all his powers which he does not accept easily. He also discovers he has acne, flab and is no-longer a god which he finds even harder to accept.
The bad guy wears purple and has no chin. Never could trust those with a weak jaw line. Percy is back to help save the day with Mrs O'Leary (who doesn't want a hell hound as a pet?). Some minor characters get dead and betrayals happen. The campers band together and show the value of friendship and forgiveness. Pure fun!

It really is. If you like Percy Jackson you would like this. If you haven't tried Rick Riordan before he is suited to upper primary age (year 6) upwards. There are opportunities for some good conversations with kids after reading too. Apollo is bisexual in this one.
