Ah, Ah, very funny. Your Smiley hasn't come out, but I'm assuming it's a wink.

The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales

Fascinating book, and some very weird stuff about what happens when bits of your brain are damaged.

I thought every member of Goodreads had bits of their brain damaged. You can't join unless you're a sandwich short of a picnic. What with elephants and dolphins and squid; sometimes I wonder...! Actually, I think I'll get back on twitter. They talk sense there.

I tweet photographs of Cornwall, and love taking them. When they're retweeted and i get positive comments about them I'm really chuffed, and if they take people to our Web site (www.lakent.co.uk)to see more photos and slide shows and then on to buy the book which is set in Cornwall, that is fantastic. Not the most earth shattering marketing strategy in the world, but i don't mind as I really enjoy taking the pics!!

Emmanuelle Maupassant (emmanuelledemaupassant) I was sceptical about Twitter - but have carefully targeted followers (I f. you, you f. me - so to speak), selecting those who follow artists/authors/film-makers/photographers whose aesthetic style is similar to my own.

This is proving quite successful, and has resulted in sales (readers have returned to offer feedback via Twitter direct messaging - or to let me know they have posted an Amazon review).

By targeting your audience, it's more likely that you'll receive retweets too.

It's hard to 'measure' how much impact this ultimately has on sales, but it does open an avenue for reader-fans to communicate with you, and perhaps would encourage them to pass on the 'whisper' about your book to their friends.

It all takes time of course.

My Twitter address is https://twitter.com/EmmanuelledeM if you'd like to have a peek.
