Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

A Tangle of Gold
I just managed to get my next classic lined up... Don Quixote, which comes in at over 1k pages, uses the letter C, and also has a difficult letter (if they make any difference?).Also falls under adventure, but doesn't match any of the letters for beige (have others lined up there though)

Aaaand so it begins... didn't take long for that first copy/paste error to pop up haha.
Thanks! :-)

Oh cool! Hadn't checked, but might definitely be something to keep in mind.

That is quiiiite the endeavour! Hope you'll enjoy :-)
It's a book I've ever been sure whether I wanted to read it or not. Still can't decide..

If I get really into a book and I have peace and quiet, a 1k book takes me 2-3 days. If hubby's working from home, it can be weeks, lol.
Luckily he's just now entering his busy quarter at work, so I'm good to go ;)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish Fingersmith tomorrow! 🙌I'm also going to pick up another quick YA when I'm at work tomorrow... any preference for letters? I can do E (The Astonishing Colour of After or Prince Charming), O (Girl Made of Stars), or F (Field Notes on Love).

Hmm, I think another O would be good.

Started the Historian today, but had less time to read than I was hoping for so I'm not very far into it. I'm enjoying it so far, though I'm already beginning to wonder if I'm even going to manage to read it half-way before this week is up since I'm also reading the BOM (short, but still, if work is busy, I won't be able to sneak-read) as well as another book.
I might just pick up something shorter (and lighter to carry) tomorrow to read on the commute.

I've spent weekend with headphones, audiobooks and 'paint-by-numbers' app (actually it's cross-stitch app but it comes to same thing) :)I'm not sure how much I'll be reading during a week (at least first part of it). We have a holiday on Thursday and then again on Tuesday (well Saturday too but it's already weekend so it doesn't count) and I'll be taking Friday and Monday off. Which means a loooong weekend :P
That's a coincidence, we have a long weekend coming up too, albeit a somewhat shorter one than yours, Tea. It's midsummer, so Friday is off. Traditionally every Finn heads for their summer cottage to celebrate. I'm stubbornly staying at home, hubby and older daughter will go to in-laws' summer cottage, not sure yet what younger daughter will be doing. Anyway, that means lots of time to read, preferably with a glass of wine!
Oh both of your weekends sound divine!!
My last exam for this term is on Wednesday so I'm hoping for a relaxing weekend too :)

We've got a holiday on Thursday too but I'm scheduled to work anyway... will do a home office day though.

All you lucky people with your long weekends, I'm so jealous!
The 23rd is our national holiday, so technically it would be a day off, but it falls on a Sunday this year :-((

Picked up Tangled Threads to carry around to work with me this week. It fits for all the letters and has suspense on the top shelves in case we need another one.
I'll still keep reading The Historian but since it's a slower read, I'll most likely be reading it over the course of the challenge instead of for this first week.

Possibly! I'm going to have to go see if I can grab it because that title and the little bit of synopsis I read was just hilarious.
Judy wrote: "I think I'll need it after Girl Made of Stars, this one really packs a punch..."
Then this might definitely a good book to read after, or as an intermission.

Oh that was a tough book! Well written though.
Interestingly it isn't showing on my shelf as read. I keep finding this... I read a book and then a year or so later there is no record of it. It is kind of hard to prove though. Anyone else wondered if GR is eating their reviews?

Yeah definitely, now in the office I'm still taking frequent breaks (crying at my computer is not a good look and also I actually have some work to do) but I'll probably need some more distractions in the afternoon
