Avani | 1 comments Hi guys! I am a bookworm just like everybody here and I am currently writing my dissertation for Book Publishing Studies. I have created a survey that will help accumulate some data that will be extremely helpful for my research. It will only take a minute or a couple at the most to complete the survey. I will be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes of your time.
Thank you! Here's the link -

I know it's not promoting your own book, but for lack of a better place for this, I've moved it to self promotions.

Will fill out the survey shortly. Good luck on your dissertation!

Done...

When I first started reading again and exploring genres, I dug through top lists to give me a starting point... then moved to the Goodreads recommendations on book pages... then the Listopia entries for top books of subgenres and topics... now, tho, I tend to look through people's bookshelves for their 4-5 star favorites in whatever genre I'm in the mood for...

The only reason I know things are debut authors or popular books of the year, is because of the Goodreads Awards every November... books there might inspire me to give something a try, but rarely...

But I had trouble with the non-multiple answers thing since I browse bookstores and libraries, I have recs from friends and collegues and family, I spend a lot of time here and on BookTube ase well... Also just like Iain I don't pay attention to the fact that an author might be a debut author or not.

Only time I notice, is when friends start raving and Buddy Reading, like with RF Kuang and The Poppy War last year...
