It all seems pretty obvious looking back on friendships and relationships I have found frustrating and wish I had thought of it earlier but sometimes we need someone else to point it out even if we do know our pet hates well.
I knew about childhood attachment from my studies but hadn't even thought to apply it to adults. Seems a bit psychodynamic and pessimistic. The authors do, however, point out that being aware of our natural attachment style may help us to either change it (with the right support) or at least not allow conflicts to escalate so readily or relationships to collapse because we feel uncomfortable. For those who have read this, no I'm not avoidant but I do seem to pick them as friends and relationships. At least now I understand them a little better I may be able to be a better friend for their needs.
The reason this got 3 stars and not more was because I felt it was repetitive and had already made all the points by the last few chapters.
