I've already read Middlesex. I'll definitely read at least Tent of Miracles (I was going to read another novel of Amado's, Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon) and In Watermelon Sugar. So I'm pleased to get 2 out of 4 books that I would like to read.I can get In Watermelon Sugar from the city library here and Tent of Miracles from the university library. The Dead Father and other novels of Barthelme's are at the university library as well.
I'm about a quarter of the way through Tent of Miracles now; will post here when finished.I'm going to try to start In Watermelon Sugar in about a month.
Finished Tent of Miracles, my WL book by Amado.I'm about half-way through In Watermelon Sugar, will post again when I've finished it.
Finished In Watermelon Sugar. He had an unusual writing style which I don’t really like.Dr. Seuss for grownups kind of.
I've considered trying to read another of my randomized books before the end of the year, but with group-reads I've committed myself to, I've decided to not try. Maybe I will try again next year and hopefully get more than this year's two- I procrastinated this year.
You did better than me I didn't read any from my list and I am responsible for generating them LOL
