Are Atheists created at 15 years old?

I've chatted with thousands of Atheists, and read some of their books. And a common statement from them all is:

"when i was about 15 I became an atheist".

Which makes me question: How smart are 15 year olds to comprehend the meaning of the Universe? These are people just hitting puberty... approaching that sacred First Kiss... learning to do their laundry... not legally eligible to drink or drive or buy property or vote or marry. BUT:

They just figured out Cosmic Truth and Origins and Meaning and Morality. And still don't have their first job and basically REBEL everything. So...

It makes me laugh. --- now if someone tells me they became an Atheist at 30... Hmmm.

Rod - it doesn't take a kid very long in our present dystopian world to figure out things are fuc*&$ up. Then it's merely where you place the blame - on humans or on God. If God, then another small step reasons that if HE can't or won't fix things, then HE doesn't exist.

Not hard to believe a 15-yr old could "reason" that God doesn't exist. Many think they know all there is to know about God, but really have no clue unless they're brought up by "Bible believing" parents who talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. Kids see that and conclude they don't want any part of God if these parents act the way they do. Then they reject any notion of a God who would allow all these bad things to happen. Either that or a very traumatic event which occurred and they haven't forgiven God for it. Many adults take the same position.

I think we are all given an intrinsic knowledge of God, but choose to reject, dismiss or otherwise ignore it based on some set of negative circumstance(s).
